    Last Post As A Pre-Op

Glad all went well. Thanks for the updates! It's my turn in 9 days! [emoji4]
  2. I am less than one week away from starting my liquid diet. Less than two weeks away from surgery. I have honestly been looking forward to this liquid diet because I know it will jumpstart me and help me lose a little bit of weight before surgery. I feel very prepared both mentally and with a stocked pantry. However, I hear the struggles here of others during their liquid diet, (so maybe I'm wrong and I'm going to struggle?) so I'd like to ask for tips and tricks, tell me how you got through it. Was it easy for you? Hard? What was the most difficult part for you. I know everyone's experience is different. Tell me everything [emoji4]

    Liquid diet....

I am starting Friday. I'm glad I only have to do 7 days! I know it will be difficult at first, but As one other already mentioned "this is the last time I will ever be this hungry" Those are words to live by!

    Liquid diet....

I loved the garden of life shakes, but I found that something in them severely upsets my stomach. Gas, & some serious distress. Lol
  8. I'm starting my Liquid diet on Friday, for 7 days. I have stocked up on a lot of approved liquids. I have read a lot about "bone broth", and although the idea of it grosses me out, pacific organically makes one that's very low sodium, low calorie, and 9 grams of protein in one cup. So I'm going to give it a shot. They also make low sodium vegetable broth, mushroom broth, and several other soups. I think they will really help me as far as variety goes.

So many questions no answers :( please help!

I had to do 6 months medically supervised diet as well. My surgeon was the one who supervised this. Over the course of those 6 months, I gained and lost the same 7 pounds, so I weighed almost exactly the same, maybe 1 pound less at my last appointment as I did my first. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and was approved in less than three days after my paperwork was submitted to insurance. I have a BMI of 38, and several comorbidities, but was only required to have one comorbidity in addition to a BMI over 35.

    Travel and food

The nice thing about the sleeve (or so my surgeon says!) is that after a certain amount of time, you can still enjoy most foods, but in much smaller quantity. (I'm due to have the sleeve 6/2!)
  16. I start my pre op diet next week. I can have 2-3 protein drinks per day, along with broth, sugar free pudding or jello and smooth nonfat Yogurt, as per my instructions.

    Portion/Bariatric Plates

My nutritionist recommended divided baby feeding plates from the dollar store. I picked up a few. I'm still pre op so I can't tell you if They're great or not. But for $1, I figured why not [emoji4]

Holy moly! I've been approved! I called my insurance company to verify that the surgeons office sent the paperwork in. And they came back and said that it was received and approved!!!! June sleeve buddies?

    June 2nd!
  22. So I've completed all of my insurance requirements, clearances and 6 months of weigh ins. I saw my surgeon today for what I was told would be my last appointment, when I would be given a tentative surgery date, for mid may, pending insurance approval. Well, I waited an hour and saw the dr for 5 seconds. He gave me a high 5 for completion and sent me off to sign a consent. I waited 20 minutes for the consent[emoji30]. I was told a scheduler would call me in "a couple of days", but that as of today the next available date is June 2. A whole month more???? I know I need time for approval, but I'm feeling really frustrated and disappointed. My husband just found out he'll need to travel for work come June, which puts me in an impossible situation.

    Feeling Frustrated...

The scheduler called me back, was able to give me the June 2 date. I may be able to fly my mom in to help me, if she can get the time off. I'm just going to take it one day at a time at this point
