  1. Awesome!!! I'm glad it's been easy. I'm kinda worried about it and having to take all my broths and shakes to work and people wondering why I'm not eating. I'll have to also make excuses about not joining my co-workers out to lunch on some days! [emoji51] I was told to do a 2-week pre-op and since that starts Tuesday I might have a good funeral tomorrow (Sunday!) lol. I'm a fluent Spanish-speaker and Tijuana is more like a fun weekend getaway for us in LA so I've been plenty of times. In fact I'm driving myself and my mom there on the morning of surgery. I'll be getting picked up at 6:30am at the US border. I can maneuver my way through Tijuana very easily also, though! I'm looking forward to it!
  2. Ooooh! How are you feeling today? Are you still on the liquid diet? Did the doc make you do a pre-op diet?
  3. I'm 180 (5'3") and hope to get to 175 by my surgery day on 4/11 (in Mexico). My lowest I've been was at 20 years old at 130 lbs, but Ive had a lifelong struggle with weight. My family has a history of obesity so I know my destiny. I've worked out regularly since my 20's but because of my love of food it's hard to lose and keep it off. I know the sleeve is the tool I need to control my portions, which I can't seem to control on my own. I'm ready and excited. I start my 2-week pre-op this Tuesday!
  4. I haven't seen too many people say they're drinking coconut water. Is that a no-no? I figured for the hydration purpose, it would be a good alternative to water? Anyone drinking that post-op?
  5. I don't know why I'm not too worried about the surgery part, lol. Maybe I should be. I've read people heading back to the gym in 3-4 weeks. I go to Boot Camp every morning at 5am, and intend to get back in there as soon as I can. My little girl luckily, doesn't like to be held in Mom's arms...only Dad's, so that's ok! lol Occasionally, when I have to, Dad will step in to help. I've purchased the Vitaleph Bariatric Pre-Op Diet Kit which I will start on next Tuesday. And I ordered some soups off of this site! I'm gonna stock up on G2 Gatorade, coconut waters, and make my own chicken and beef broths. I'm only taking 4 days off from work, as I have a desk job and don't need to be too mobile at all.
  6. I'm getting sleeved April 11th in Tijuana, Mexico. When I scheduled my surgery 10 days ago, I weighed 185 (BMI 32.8). The nutritionist told me she wanted me down to 176 on surgery day. This morning I weighed in at 180, so hopefully I'll get there. I'm 5'3" so 185lbs on my frame is a lot. I also have PCOS, pre-diabetes, and high(er) cholesterol (though I've worked hard to bring those numbers down). My body and frame takes after my father's side of the family where the women were all obese. I know what my destiny is, so at 41 I wanted to do something about it. Plus, I also have a 2 year old, and I want to be healthy and have stamina to keep up with her and all the needs an active childhood consists of!
