Do I Smell Different?
Yes, I have noticed this also. I am using a new body spray and I was showering twice a day for a while ..lol. I don't notice it as much this past week. Maybe my body is normalizing it now?

6 month stall 2 lbs up 2lbs down
This is exactly why I won't let bread, rice, and pasta back into my life! It is a slippery slope that I don't want to be on. You can do this, you have already identified the problem. Once you stop the bad carbs, you will stop craving them, and it will be easier. Maybe start a couch to 5k running program to get some decent exercise going, or start a weight lifting program a few days a week. I think the key is you need to enjoy what you are doing so you will keep at it. Start tracking your foods and measure portions if you need too and this will help also. You are not a failure. Sometimes it takes several stumbles before we can walk without falling. You can get back up and run though.

Wow, I have never heard about that. I am sorry you are struggling with past injuries. Getting injured has been a big fear of mine since starting exercise after such a long time of just walking. My opinion is that you should definitely listen to your body and don't push too hard. Maybe seeing a PT would be a good thing as they would likely be able to design a program for you that would be safe and not aggravate your hips or shoulder.

@Newme17 do you have a fitness tracker like Fitbit or Apple Watch? That would be a good way to keep track and it would give you a baseline of your daily activity.

Ok, well I hope it is just that and starting back on a regular pill vitamin will correct it for you. I agree that everything we do in a day adds up. I have a very active job in the summer time with a lot of field work. On days i am in the field my watch tells me I have burned 500 calories sometimes. I don't know how accurate it is, but the trends don't lie. Havea great day!!

Congrats on the weight loss @Newme17. I think you did great! What did your Doc say about the tingling sensation? Are you going to get blood work to check your vitamin levels?

Confused
I would measure your food out using a scale if you are worried about eating to large a portion. I weight out 4oz and then I know exactly how much I am eating. If it is a dense protein I can't always eat all of it and that's fine. I just re weigh the plate and I know how much I ate.

Show me a day
Cottage cheese also works well for this stage. I still eat it now and I am on solid foods. Also try the ricotta bake it is very good.

Well I did it!
Every doctors plan seems to be different. Were you given a eating plan from your doc/nut? I just started eating salad this week and I am almost 8 weeks post op. Most plans have all restrictions lifted by 8 weeks. Raw vegatables seem to be a little harder to digest so I would ask your doc.

Running
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have a question for the seasoned runners. I started C25K a couple of weeks ago and I want to know if any of you changed your diet in any way while you were beginning to run? I will be 8 weeks post-op on Monday and I am eating in the 900 calorie range most days. I am eating low carb with my net carbs right at 25-30g and protein 60-75g. Should I change anything? I feel really good and just want to make sure I am ok with my calories and macros.

Calories post gastri sleeve
I will be 8 weeks post op on Monday and after reviewing my log I was at about 400 calories at 2 weeks. I am now getting in 900-950 on most days. I keep my protein at 60-75g and carbs at 30g or less. I don't worry about fat at all. I am running 4 days a week now so I need the energy.

Welcome @Batty's Mom. The best person on this thread for help with vegetarian ideas is @Newme17. She is planning a vegetarian diet also. I am so sorry you went through so much with your surgery. What exactly was the complication, if you don't mind sharing? I hope you are on the road to feeling better now.

I was off on Monday also. I was just in a wining mood yesterday for some reason. I got to work and realized I had to do 5 days worth of work in three days with 2 people from my group on vacation. I have used those calculators before, but I wonder how accurate they are especially for someone with thyroid disease? I am probably worrying too much. Now that I have started running on a regular basis I am a little concerned about eating enough. but not too much. Some days I feel like I stress too much about my diet...lol... I just don't want to fail.. you know what I mean? Have a good day everyone!!

What was the biggest surprise for you at or after surgery? What do you wish you had known?
Yes. I would most definitely do it again. My type 2 diabetes is in remission and I feel better than I have in the past 10 years?

I was surprised at how easy the surgery and recovery was for me. I thought because I was a little older (49) it would take longer.

May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
It really sucked getting up to go to work this morning...lol... I hate when they put a holiday on a Tuesday? I noticed the past couple of weeks I am often getting in 800-900 calories a day. I think by 3 months I will be up to 1000. I would really like to get my REsting metabolism checked just so i will know how fast or slow mine is. Have any of you thought about doing this?

If you still drink 1 shake a day...
I still drink a shake for breakfast. I have recently switched to a high protein expresso coffee that i mix with unsweetened almond milk. It tastes better and has the benefit of caffeine..lol.. I count mine as breakfast because I eat an early lunch at 11 am. I have a protein snack at 3:30 and dinner at 7. Sometimes a protein snack at 10 before bed. Most days I get in 60-75g of protein and that is enough to fuel my workouts.

My daughter made this delicious cake for today's BBQ. I ate a few berries and two bites of cake. Those bites were worth it.
