  1. Take spoon or two of yogurt, and walk around. It can linger, but will subside after some time. When you do it with food - it will have to come back up, and sometimes you have to lie down for an hour. You learn not to do this.... take a couple times, but eating really slowly and really well chewed small bites is the key to figuring it out.
  2. Aw crap @FluffyChix This is a long read... https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-14187-x
  3. Oh man Steve I am glad you didn't bash into anything on the way down. Here is the 30 Second rule - when getting up from a chair stand for 30 seconds hanging onto something before moving. Then move slow. When getting out of bed, sit up for thirty seconds, put feet over bed for 30 seconds, stand for 30 seconds before moving. My surgeon told me NOT to take my lisinopril after surgery for at least a month or maybe never depending on my BP at that time. LOL I am on 1/2 of a 5mg pill and not even every day.

1.5 years out & still throwing up?

So glad you finally made a doctor listen and hopefully now you can heal the right way and continue your journey... wishing you well!

    What the Prep...

Tastes dramatically change after surgery, and the smell of some foods might send you hurling. I still can barely handle chocolate.... during soft stage had sf chocolate pudding OMG It was so bad I shudder thinking about it. Bone broth was a savior. Premier protein shakes have been nearly everyone's shake that they managed to still tolerate. I switched to ready-made blue raspberry Isopure with some crystal light lemonade to survive liquid stage. Good luck. If you still have 'stock' once you are past using it, I donated mine to the bariatric support group.

    NSV for me!!

Nice guns!! Go to the search function and look up @JerseyJules and @BigViffer posts... They both rocked their surgeries and fitness.

    Weird insurance question?

Yes, 30 days apart or a day more... My nutritionist said these submissions were very important to be a month apart. Insurance companies are pretty strict.
  8. Congrats! Ditto what others said about getting a Dr appt.

    6mpo weight loss stopped?!

Sometimes during a stall your body is just adjusting to the quick weight loss. Often you lose the most inches at that time, things shift around. Be patient. If you are really concerned up protein and double water intake for a day or two. Stalls can last 3-8 weeks sometimes, especially those last pounds.
  12. Early out drinking feels like aquarium gravel, try different temperatures and flavors, bone broth, sf crystal light diluted, warm decaf tea, etc. I liked ready-made blue raspberry Isopure, if you can find it in the UK. Staying hydrated is very important as it can be hard to catch up once you are in that state. If you find yourself getting light headed increase liquids and salt. Your will be emotional on and off during this journey, hormones get wacky and you will miss food, right now you miss chewing. This all passes in time. Hang in there. Find a new hobby, go to a bariatric support group if you can.

    My @ss hurts 😢

The bleeding gums can be a sign of vitamin K deficiency, maybe need a checkup just to be safe. And yes, my arss is flat and tailbone hurts a lot.
  15. Eliminate all dairy and see if you have improvement. Also all sugar and artificial sweeteners. No grain, including oats, corn, wheat, rice, barley, rye, etc. Good luck.

8weeks post op and need food ideas

Bone broth w veggies and chicken thigh meat, warm tea, sf popsicles. At two months many of us still used one shake a day to get in required protein. Grilled pork steak. Regular beef steak was too harsh, and I could not tolerate any lettuce until 9 months out - slimes. But spinach in a cheese omelet. Ground turkey was easier than ground beef for me. Soft baked fish

    Denied

Document all conversations, who you talked to, their title, ask for the denial letter, etc. The person may have put down incorrect information about diagnosis, or incorrect coding on the submission. First on your policy do you meet that criteria? Do you have documented failed attempts at weight loss - like Weight Watchers weigh-in logs, or your doctor visits whete you weighed in and talked about weight loss? Can you take your policy with you to the surgeon's office and call your insurance from there? Keep pushing. You either have coverage or not, but it sounds like you have coverage. Is it through work or ACA? What state are you in? Hang in there?
  18. Your desire for this food is very apparent, you are asking an emotional question - not a nutritional one. Right now your mind needs to realize that it will never be the same again, unless you want to ruin the surgery. Your body needs nutrition, so work within the guidelines to simulate Asian food, use the spices and vegetables and some chicken. Pasta - no, a couple bites here and there, but it isn't that appealing and feels too heavy. You can still have the sauce and meatballs. I suspect you are missing chewing this texture too. All of us had to face the food funeral. You are among friends here, so don't be rude to sleevers, they are trying to help.

9 plus years post op and weight gain

Does your work have an EAP program where you could get some therapy? You need to completely drop all sugar, up your water intake. There is no reason to cook separate meals - do they not eat grilled chicken, grilled burgers, grilled chops? All you need to add for you is veg or salad, make them some parm noodles and the veg. Boil some eggs for work, preportioned tuna in a can, etc. If you worked the program before you know how to work it again. No eating after 7pm should help bedtime reflux. Ditch caffeine. Do you take a PPI at all? For reflux your GP can order an endoscopic exam to see if there is acid damage.

    Am I losing my mind...

Just my opinion, but you need your own money, even if it's just $× from the budget. In a marriage it is a collaboration. Do you get to see the budget? Our money is all in an excel spreadsheet, I can look at it without reproach - even though my husband does the finances - I have my own money. In my first marriage, I would ask for grocery money or how much I could spend and I would squeeze that budget so that I had some money from the groceries left over that was mine. Can you get a side job if you are a SAHM? I don't know if you work or not.
  21. So sorry Steve. She obviously has mental health issues. All you can do is say a prayer. I hope you can get 'adopted' somewhere. You are doing great, keep your chin up.

    Am I losing my mind...

His insecurity is showing. You need to approach him in a nonconfrontational way - go out for a leisurely coffee. After some casual conversation is started, just say 'hey I notice some reactions to my recent choices, and it seems to bother you - what are you worried about?' Then let him talk without making more comments. Then give it a little time. Do you have to shop with him? Does he control all money expenditures? Did you always ask for his input on your choices? Do you need this much approval from him? These are all things that must be worked out along the way.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

Here is your first statement on that post - you are THREE weeks out. Right now you need to breathe, relax and stay with the plan. There are time frames where you will stall, or just rest and not lose. You are healing and have inflammation, also you are at a stage where just getting adequate liquids and protein are difficult. Your body and brain are making major adjustments just to heal. Breathe, take a nap, take a long hot soak. It WILL happen. As a sleever myself, I had many many weeks with no loss, and then whoosh 5 pounds, that is how it was for me. The vets on here give sage advice (hi peeps), we are all different but the plan works if you stay the course and tweak when you need to. Follow the food stages, get your macros fulfilled and enjoy it. There are great rewards.
