LadySin got a reaction from froufrou in February 2019 weight loss buds
    4 years?!
I could quote this word for word, accept I will add that I'm big into fitness, particularly Jujitsu at a fantastic dojo. While I too gained 20lbs over my goal weight, it almost all muscle. For sometime I traded my addition of eating for exercise. I wasn't happy. It's felt just like when I was obsessed with eating. Counting, measure, weighing, starving. I had to turn things around because I was just repeating a path of insanity.
I'm at a so much happier place now! Now I push and strengthen and push by body for the challenge and increased quality of life. Not to escape my demons. Boy oh boy has this been an eye opening journey.
If I had to go back in time, I'd still happily do. Sooner in fact. But would have learned to love myself FIRST. Because for me, the depression, and self-guilt didn't leave along with fat. Nor did I gain well-being from the attention.
Once I began to work on my mind with the same determination that led me to work on my body, I became and am unstoppable!
    We've got this!

You go girl! I couldn't imagine doing my surgery so soon. I do wish my insurance required 3 months instead of 6 though. I think 3 months would be a good time for to wrap my head around everything. Commit to lifelong changes, and start building my new wardrobe.
Ah well, I'll be able to accomplish all that in more at 6 months. I just hope my surgeon isn't in demand so I can get in quickly once my time comes.
    Keep us updated ThickGirl

I was wrong, BlueCross Complete is going to be it. Aetna Medicaid is 12 months, not 3. After consideration, I'd feel better about a 6-month wait. There aren't many hoops to jump through either. I've got a 41 BMI, the only thing they want from me is 6 months and a drug/alcohol test.

So after a tiny bit of digging, I find that Aetna may be the best choice. Aetna no longer has a requirement for how long you've had to be morbidly obese (gods I hate even typing that word) (before it was 2 years) Like the other health insurances, there is a required pre-surgery weight loss program. But unlike the others, Aetna has the shortest. If you enter a multi-disciplinary surgical preparatory regimen like the one offered through Beaumont’s bariatric surgery program you only have to do it for 3 months before you're approved (assuming you meet all the other requirements. This is opposed to the 6-month requirements I've seen or even the 12 months that my current insurance offers. Bye, bye, Molina!

Just in case I'm going to wait until the seminar on Wednesday so That I've had a chance to talk with the surgeon. His name is Daniel Bacal. I don't know anything about him, but his picture makes him look like a straight up dad he has great bedside manners.

OK that sucks then! I live in a fairly pretentious area and there's this spa that offers that just for the hell of it. You can get your face dewrinkled, your ass fat lasered, and a Vitamin cocktail delivered straight to your blood stream all at one stop shop!

    Great Job!!

I am currently down 70 pounds, reached my doctor's goal a few weeks ago but I am 9 pounds away from my personal goal. Overall doing well, though I am still not as strong as I wish I was. Though, to be honest-I don't exercise as much as I should so I only have myself to blame. Trying to focus on my food issues/addiction as I still have an up and down relationship with food. I am very fearful that I will gain my weight back in a few years because that relationship isn't healthy. I have more good days than bad days so that is good. One day at a time.

Been doing this thang! So many up and downs. Downs being living the life of a recovering addict. Ups being FEELING and looking sexy as f**k! 3 more lbs until I reach my short term goal. 13 more lbs until I reach my maintenance goal. Sometimes I miss being fact and pretending I don't give a f**k. One thing is for certain. I'll never regret having had this surgery!

Started around 475lbs, surgery day was 430lbs, 11months out, I’m at 318lbs. Headed for 200, my goal. Feel so much better, way more active. Most health issues gone completely. It was and is worth it. Happier by miles!

Please don’t narc on others if they post on a different thread, we are here to support each other. Tomorrow’s mantra is about lifting up others, we should do that everyday.
I just noticed the fitness calendar stops on the 24th! I’ll just do lunges today. I did do 25 minutes of cardio at the gym this morning and now I have an appointment with my hammock.

LadySin got a reaction from TX2NC in Dr Submitted(pprwrk) as Urgent
I work for an Insurance. I work in a department that specifically handles prior authorizations and well as appeals. We don't drag our feet, even though it may seem like it. But boy do we get busy as all hell. Especially around this time of year. I don't know the rules for you particular insurance company but for mine when a member or provider requests an urgent prior auth we ask them a few questions first. Is the patient's life in jeopardy if they don't have whatever they are requesting done urgent? Can they go to the ER? If there life isn't on the line we then ask if they are in unbearable pain. If either one is a yes we process all urgent within 72 hours. Some stuff we have to process same day like chemo treatments and fertility procedures. We don't fight the provider or patient's usually. If they answer yes to the questions we take their word for it.
So remember folks YOU CAN ASK YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER FOR YOUR CASE TO BE EXPEDITED. You DO NOT have to ask your provider. Just remember to answer those questions correctly. Again I don't know the rules for every company but in order to even get an urgent you also have to ask for it within 10 days of the case submission.

#1 it is 8:30 AM on June the First. And am I mentally ready for a new month? Nope- it may be a new month but it seems like same old, same old. My right shoulder is c4amping pretty badly, this is from the surgery on April 4th, the one where I went to have my support hardware from my humerus FX 9 years ago removed, nobody warned me that my fat loss would occur in my upper arm alsom Well it got inflamed internally from things bring loose enough to rock back i& forth, Okay I went to surgical La La land thinking that was all being done. Woke up to find out my Orthopaedic, Dr Doolittle, who I normally like/respect had decided to repair my rotator cuff as well,,he rationalized" She's asleep anyway, I'll have to bring her back. in a couple months to repair it. While I have this lovely incision open, hmmmn!" The mental state I'm in today? Beset- upon!!! I also am fighting my obstitnate 💩. I spent last evening trying to get relief, oh some would pass, but I was trying so hard it was making me vomit also. A miserable time had by all, finally my son shows up with the liquid Ducolax- it says relief as soon as 30 minutes- as long as 6 hours. I didn't care but took a healthy dose followed by 8 oz Water in my usual 2 per drink, didn't want to lose the Ducolax. Well relief did not come to in a half-hour, hour, 2 hours so finally I rationalize maybe going to sleep would make everything relax, put on an adult pull-up just in case something started before I could travel to the Bathroom. Nope I awoke to no cramps, no extrusion, tried again, small amount came, not as painful, but still no sense of release and relief. 50-50 chance when my son arises we will take a little trip to the ER for my Milk and Molasses Enema. And no I do not find much enjoyment, but I have stayed away for a month, maybe they won't MIND as much as I WILL
And then perhaps my Sunny Disposition will return! Because basically I was looking forward to a New Month, New NSV, continuing weight loss and feeling good enough to mentor others instead of whining like a 🐕 left out in the cold. And if this is what I need done, there is always a Constipation thread or 2 to report back on, right?

My biggest regret is rather silly. I regret that I didn't have this surgery a few years ago when my wife and I had our last baby. I was obese when I was pregnant and due to the way I carried my weight no one ever knew I was pregnant. I always wanted to be one of those tiny mommies with the huge bellies that they proudly show it off with beautiful maternity clothes. We're doing with babies now so it was never meant to be.
