Yep. Big time. I was going to have my surgery in 2016 and got cold feet. Starting over with medical weight management for my insurance company. Hoping to get sleeved in September.

Keep in mind that I am still at the very early stages of the pre-op process....
Just curious if anyone else has had their mind try to talk themselves out of getting the sleeve? I've been really excited about it and the prospect of loosing weight have keeping it off and then all of a sudden my brain is trying to tell me that I don't need it. That I'll regret not being able to eat my favorite foods. That I'll be missing out on something if I get this done.
I know I want to get it done. It'll help me do everything that I want to do. It will help me be the person that I truly want to be. I want to be able to work out. I want to go hiking. I want to run around with my future kids and play with them. I want to wear normal clothes and feel pretty.
I'm just suddenly doubting the dumb stuff. Anyone else go through that so early on?

I love this thread! I most look forward to being physically comfortable in my body. I have a lot of pain and discomfort from my extra weight. I cannot wait to be free of it.

But I have to say, this post made me think that someday soon, I will be donating ALL my current clothes. The thought of throwing out an entire closet of fat clothes is pretty thrilling!

I have struggled with this, too. For a long time, I only told my sister, my mom, and my husband. I have a close group of friends I usually share everything with. I decided to tell one, and she was so positive and supportive. So, I told my uncle (whom I'm very close with) and another close friend. As I explained to my uncle, I still feel like this is private "classified" information, so only the people in my life with top security clearance get to know for now.

    GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
just a little message to throw out there because im excited!!! as of this morning I am down 216 pounds
from 465 to 249 in almost a year AMAZES ME! I hit a stall for a month and stayed at 277... I really thought my weight loss ended lol
but I changed things around and I started to lose again! the stall sucked!! it made me feel awful for some reason..then my co workers reminded me how far I've come already. this surgery wasn't an easy way out, it still takes a lot of work mentally and physically to get to where we want to be! so for those of u who are at a stall just remember its temporary and don't beat yourself up. I've got 50 more pounds to lose to reach my goal of being under 200lbs. (I never ever thought I could say that) and 69 pounds to get to my drs goal of 180.
    im almost there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's because everyone these days has a M.D. from Google and Very Strong Opinions[emoji769]. I'm only going to tell people I regularly eat or drink with because I will soon be unable to eat or drink that way.

I'm looking forward to taking a real family photo where I'm not holding my kids up in front of me like little hostages, trying to hide my fat. I'm also looking forward to not being hung up on if people will like me or not because of my size.....I can't imagine what either one of those things will feel like.

Not wanting to hide from family I haven't seen in awhile! I live states away from most family and every time I see them, I feel the need to pre-warn them before they arrive that I'm fat. I have a very vocal family and they like to mention things I already know. I can't wait to WANT to visit family and not try to hide behind my husband or tables!

The ease of being able to go to a restaurant, board a plane, sit outside at a friend's home and not be worrying excessively about the durability, size, and location of the seat! Plus, running after my grandkids with ease.

Going out with friends and not being worried that the wait staff would try to sit us at a booth. That fear kept me from going out with friends on many occasions. I even remember one where I arrived after the rest of my group and we all had to move because I couldn't fit in the booth.

I've posted this before somewhere, but mine is to wear my wedding ring again. Never had it resized for this very reason, for it to fit again. Can't wait. I have a zillion other reasons too, all for health mainly.

Getting it over with and passing the 4-6 week mark with no leaks. Honestly, that is the #1 thing I am looking forward to.
Outside of that, I am most excited about the idea of aches and pains subsiding, improving the overall quality of my life (and lifespan, as obesity-related diseases run on both sides of my family) and a distant 3rd is clothes. I will definitely have fun shopping again!

Besides clothes shopping, my biggest thing is going somewhere (restaurant, theater, amusement park ride) and not worrying if I'll fit or if whatever I'm sitting on/in will hold me.

CLOTHING! I have always been heavy but most of my weight gain is more recent. I really look forward to fitting into some of my old clothes. I have donated a lot of smaller things but there are quite a few pieces I kept. I also had to buy some bigger clothing throughout the year to hold me over. I can't wait to donate it all! And although it's always a struggle in the clothing stores, I can not wait for the day I no longer need to find the "plus size" section (or should I say the few racks shoved in the corner with no signage).

I'm 8 weeks out from sleeve surgery and have been cheating with coffee. I either make it at home, very weak or get half caff when out. At home, I usually will mix up 4 ozs of almond milk with 1 Scoop of Protein Powder and mix that in with my 12 ozs of coffee and its great! It acts just like a flavored Creamer and lets me work in a bit of Protein, as well. I don't have it every day but on the days that I do, I really up my Fluid intake.
