Hi, I'm Amy, I'm 48, live in PA and I just had my surgery on monday. I'm looking to talk to anyone that has recently had or is going to have gastric sleeve.

Wow, what a mess. You almost have to be a Dr in order to talk to or go to a Dr. If you don't have the exact questions to ask, you don't get the information you need. I'm so sorry all this has happened.
I was sleeved last week and do far so good. The pain was not at all awful. I had a total hysterectomy last year, and the pain was far more. I, too, get horribly "backed up" from pain killers, so I've been through what you're suffering. I was actually put in the hospital it got so bad, I can now tell people I was in fact, full of shit. Lol
So please consider your option and weigh the differences. I'm not sure why you preferred 1 over the other, but the sleeve is proven to work and surgery will only need to be on 1 organ.

I just had the sleeve on 2-20. I came home on Wednesday, had a great day Thursday, and woke in a funk yesterday and slept all day and woke in a funk again today. I feel like something is missing or a part of me is missing. I feel like I've made the biggest mistake of my life, yet I'm not sure of the reason why. I'd love to here anything from anyone that may have felt like this after the surgery. I'm feeling kind of scared and sad.

1. Now you know your system doesn't like painkillers, so you can take steps to prevent Constipation during your sleeve journey.

2. It is recommended to not get pregnant for a couple years after bariatric sugery, which would have run you out of time anyway.

3. Just because you can't get pregnant doesn't mean you can't be a parent.

4. You are getting the painful procedures out of the way so you can focus on feeling better going forward.

5. No pregnancy means no required weight regain.

6. The sleeve will be a simpler surgery, with fewer potential complications long-term.

I was sleeved on February 6th too!

I just got home from the hospital yesterday, but I'm sipping broth, Water , tea , sugar free ice , Jello. Haven't tryed a Protein Shake yet.

Sounds like you are doing great!! So far I'm down about 9 lbs during 2 week liquid diet (started the 16th). I bought some Greek yogurt last night, I think it has 12g protein- so hoping I can eat one a day. If not I also have Unjury chicken broth with 20g per 8 oz. My dr said don't expect to be able to get all your Protein in first week- just do what works for you!

Before I decided to have surgery I wore clothing size 34/36 but really was stretching it and probably should have been a 38 or so at 540 pounds and 5'10.

I tried on some of my smaller work pants, a size 30/32 but they were big so I decided to go shopping and get the next smallest size.

When I went to the store they didn't have any 28's so I decided to give a 26 a shot...it was TOO BIG also!!

I am now a pant size 24!! This is so exciting to me!! I could not believe it! I have not been a size 24 since 2008 after my lap band surgery (which failed miserably). I can not wait to see how small I can get!

That was the best thing to happen to me in a while!!

I am now down 225 pounds and weigh 315 pounds!!

So fun!! You are doing an amazing job!! You will be out of plus sizes before you know it and then the world of endless clothing possibilities will surround you!

3 days out from my surgery!! I cant believe it, it's been about a 7 month wait. I've been knocking out the pre-op diet easy with no hungry moments.
What key thins did you do or wish you had done to get through the first two weeks. I've been reading everything again and brushing up on my binder, but some real-life examples would be great!!

What? A sandwich 5 days out? I can't even take a mouthful of Water and I was on 15 Feb. I don't think you are allowed to eat until 4-5 weeks

I was sleeved dec 20th ! Still not able to eat a full meal, no bread, I snuck a French fry from my son and almost died !! lol I have lost 54 lbs since surgery !! Please don't eat a sandwich! Hell I want a salad !!!

Sorry to hear about that. I had no issues with my incisions. Except for severe itchiness, which is part of the healing process anyway..
