  1. Dr. Sampath is the surgeon that was assigned to me through the Richmond Metabolic Program. He explained both the procedures, the gastric sleeve, and the gastric bypass. We were under the agreement that we would do the gastric sleeve with the fact that I had a very low BMI of about 38 at the time. He has been a great surgeon, and he is quite friendly and does a great job at the surgery that he does. It hasn't been an easy journey, but Dr. Sampath does explain carefully what he does, and what is expected of you! If you want a great surgeon, he is great, and willing to help you! For more information regarding the program, if you're in British Columbia, you can look at www.rmbsurgery.com Hope that you have good success with him too! The stats that I have are at my high weight, I was 327lbs, when I went for my thyroidectomy I was 286. When I went for my consultation with the bariatric program, I was 236lbs and then the day before my first surgery it was 219lbs. When I was seen in consultation for my second surgery, I was 176lbs. Today I sit at between 156 and 165. Below is the picture of me through my journey. The one close to the face photos was when I started at my highest weight. Then the picture in the top right was how I was at Christmas time of this past year! And the two facial pictures, one happened in Sept 2018, and one was before I had my weight loss and thyroid surgery.

    Day 3 of Pre-Op Diet

I definitely feel for you! My stomach was rumbling all the time when I had the pre-op diet. You will be fine, and it is good experience for when you have to have a lot less after the surgery.
  3. I have a lot of loose skin already! The best thing that you can do is to work out, and to keep up with the fluids to push the fluids along! Be sure to talk to your surgeon about your fears too!

First time skipping a period in my life!

When I had my thyroidectomy, I had a period almost immediately after when still in the hospital. My doctor says that those are not periods, but they are just adjustments after the hormonal change. It takes a while to get a "normal" period again. I have had it quite regularly since then. This was a year ago. Going in a week for the Gastric Sleeve, and am probably going to be bringing supplies with me to my surgery, as all the hospital had were maternity pads when I had my surgery.
