Yeah to be honest I have a habit of eating and drinking at the same time. And I don't think I have been getting my daily protein.

SalZ got a reaction from Angie M in Florida Aetna Insurance requirements - is this normal?
Wow. That's crazy. My insurance required me to be on a medical/doctor supervised diet for 6 months (which my doctor wrote a recommendation letter that i have had difficulty losing weight on my own and strongly recommended I have the procedure), see a nutritionist (one time), see a psychologist (one time), see a doctor to determine if I have sleep apnea or if a sleep study is needed (which neither were recomended) and basic blood work, EKG, and pre-op appointments (which are required for anyone going under).. it doesn't make sense that they require you to either lose weight or maintain.. if you were able to lose weight on your own, than surgery wouldn't be necessary. I would look into it.

I had the gastric sleeve surgery a week ago and aside from a little discomfort, I feel great. I thought my stomach wasn't suppose to tolerate anything other than liquids, but I've been able to eat apple sauce, Greek yogurt and a very thick egg and Tomato sauce puree. Is that normal? I don't feel sick after eating. I don't feel pressure. And while I shouldn't be complaining, I have this underlying worry some feeling. Is it normal? Everyone I spoke to was sick and nauseous and had no appetite for at least 2 weeks post surgery. But I am non of those things. Why am I not feeling any different??

Believe it or not, I bought a laxative tea and it worked like a charm. I didn't think it would, but I was in so much pain, I would have taken anything. My husband made me a huge mug of it and I sipped it before going to bed. By 6am, it took full effect.

It happened to me the 1st time I tried mushy food. I believe that I ate too much and too fast. I've been fine since.

SalZ got a reaction from GMen88 in 4 weeks out and haven't lost in two weeks!
Don't freak out! I was sleeved on Feb 14th. In the first 2 weeks, I lost almost 20 pounds. From the 3rd to the 5th week (for approx. 3 wks), i didnt lose an ounce. I was so frustrated. People kept telling me that my body needed to heal from the surgery and that it was in adjustment mode, but I still panicked. I am happy to say, they were right. I had a few weeks of no weighloss, but I am now losing approx 3-4 pounds a week. It's nice and steady and I am feeling great. I am now almost 30 pounds down and am taking it one day at a time.
Good luck with your journey and remember, you didn't put on the weight overnight, so you can't expect it to come off over night. Be proud of your stepping stones, no matter how small, and you're going to see amazing results. Just be patient.

Unfortunately the aspartame or any kind of fake sugar will stop your ability to beat the sugar addiction.
Also it also makes your body crave more food..
Its a vicious circle. Not saying having a can once a week is bad but everyday is not a good idea.
I have a bad sugar addiction and still struggle. But I won't have any cool drink or anything carbonated

I don't drink soda at all.
It isn't good for you before surgery or after.
I was told to stay away from it in
    nut classes.
But when someone disagree with what you're saying than they have to find out the hard way!

I haven't been a soda drinker but been have taste for carbonated drink (flavored Water etc). The nurse at my doctor's office said the reason I shouldn't drink soda is because it stretches the stomach pouch...undoing what I had done. I didn't know this. I just thought it was because of sugar intake or other unhealthy aspects of drinking soda. Certainly don't want to undo goals we are achieving with weight loss.

How long ago were you sleeved?

I tried it after about 9 months. I can't drink much, but other than that, it's just another drink with artificial sweetener.

If you think it's bad - don't drink it!

We are not made to eat chemicals. Look around at all the sick people, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, children all have add, adhd. That specifically comes from eating unhealthy fake food. Mac n cheese and nuggets are NOT real food. They are chemically altered imitations of food.
Do some research before calling my post illiterate. Read some labels. We are not made to ingest chemicals no matter how small an amount or how safe they tell us it is.
Look at the diet of a healthy person. Trash and junk food are not a part of it. Diet sodas are a chemical Soup.
It is your body. If you feel good about what you put in it then that is your choice. But don't try to sugar coat a post that is made to help people who genuinely struggle with addiction and are searching for a way to break it and eat healthier. That's who this post is for.
