My paperwork got submitted on today and I am so nervous I pray we both get approved and everybody else this waiting for approval

Mine is officially June 27th!

I have the same surgery date. I start the diet tomorrow.

My surgery date is June 26th

Well 1st of all you should get rid of this kind of thinking. Unless you mean like when you're 60 you might regain. If you think this way and even give it a chance in your mind, you will allow it happen and you shouldn't!
Secondly, no you probably don't need to admit to him unless you feel like you want to. It seems like most people on this forum are against sharing their journey, and that is fine, you don't need to explain it to people. But then there are those of us that want the world to know how we've decided enough is enough and we wanted to change our lives so badly that we sought-after a potentially life threatening surgery to give us another chance.
Even though I'm one of those people, I would not bring it up as a talking point, I woul talk about it if it came up some how.

So I am 30 and I have been dating now too. I took 5 years off and as the weight started going down I decided to try again. I started dating again around October so I have had lots of experiences as I had Surgery last May. I'm at a BMI of around 40 right now but at the beginning of my journey I had a BMI of 78.

As long as your pictures are not edited or in a special light don't even ask him. You are hardly overweight now! I know you are tempted to ask him that but that will just show to him that you are insecure about it. Be proud of who you are and how far you've come and just let your personality shine through on the date.

As for telling them about the surgery...that is up to you. For me, I am VERY open about the surgery and will tell a stranger I met on the street how much weight I've lost and that I had the surgery. I tend to let conversation flow and determine if I want to share it with him yet. It usually comes up though when I tell them I can't eat and drink at the same time or that I can't use a straw. They usually ask why and I tell them I had weight loss surgery. No one has seemed to care at all.

As for a chance for regain that is COMPLETELY unnecessary. Someone who is super skinny has a chance to gain weight. There is ABSOLUTELY NO need to go into that. If they are curious they can look it up on their own accord but DO NOT mention it. That's putting a seed in their mind that you are planning on regain.

I tend to focus on my accomplishments so far. The guys I've been out with have been impressed with my efforts and are super supportive of me and my journey. The guy I'm going out with now always tells me how proud he is of me. He gets lots of chances because I feel like I'm always sharing a new accomplishment or realization about my weight loss. It's one of the biggest things going on in my life so I talk about it a lot. Haha

I know how exciting and scary and frustrating dating can be...especially when you are overweight. Good luck to you!!

Honestly, I wouldn't mention anything about your weight...or being overweight on the first date. Kind of thinking maybe that subject would be best left to another time. Let them know the real you 😊

Well BP FAM , I'm back again with a rant. My husband and I were talking last night and he made comments in how he wished I never had this surgery. He stated that my butt has gone almost away and he felt all unneeded to do was tone up and lose my belly initially. Well, first of all, I don't know how you tone up 242 lbs with BMI 0f 39( which was my initial weight and BMI). So.... he proceeded to run his mouth about all the things I can't do like drink gallons of sweet tea, eat cake and Cookies, go to restaurants and eat appetizer , entree and dessert.. You know all of the healthy stuff that led me to be 242 lbs in the first place. Well, I was really hurt by his comments. My rebuttal was how much healthier I am , I am a lose size 10 as opposed to a tight size 16, I am no longer out of breath with walking 20 feet and I am able to exercise. I like how my body has changed and I told him I love my size. Well, he said "you don't have to be attracted to you, I do and you only needed to lose a little belly but now your butt has gone down tremendously " well needless to say I was pushed to my breaking point. I was like if you don't like what you see, go and find you a thick chic with a donkey's ass. I'm not even at goal yet so I'm gonna lose more and just ticked that he would say that to me which made me feel a lil insecure about my looks. Then I snapped out of it. I have posted pics on my other forums but I will put my last one here as well. Not tooting my own horn but I worked hard for these results . I had surgery in Dec 2016. I am just like dang I can't win for losing .i really thought I was doing good . My pics show one week after surgery on left, middle is 1 1/2 months post op and last pic on right was about 2 weeks ago.

I'm 5 1/2 months post op. I use to complain about walking. Now if someone asks let's walk then I say let's go.

The nurse told me that they were getting ready to submit my stuff as soon as she went through my checklist and told me that I have completed everything. I'm praying that we all hear good news very soon🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾Approval and a safe surgery and a new healthy lifestyle!!!

I found out from my insurance today that I am approved!!!!!!
Thanks for all the good thoughts, I am also sending good thoughts to those others who posted they are waiting.
Now I'm just waiting for a date. My insurance approval said I was approved for an admission date of 5-22, does anyone know if that's just an informal date the surgeons office gives to get approval, or will that be my date?
I'm dying to know!

My paperwork was submitted Monday afternoon and I was approved yesterday, although I didn't find out until today! Surgery scheduled May 9th!

I was in office on Monday and they said they were working on it to submit, so I called the next day to see if it was submitted! I have great news called insurance today about something else and just asked about my status so they said I was approved yesterday. I then called the office and told them, they checked and confirmed!

Yep. I'm waiting to hear back as well, but so far I've had to do a good bit of double-checking to make sure it's not at a stand-still. I called the psychologist a week and a half after my eval and she processed me that day. I called the surgeon's office and they said they would submit to insurance last Friday. I called insurance on Monday to confirm they received clinical from the surgeon's office and they did not, so they called the surgeon's office to request it be sent and told me to call back in a few days. Called today and they told me they "just received" the clinical.
I feel like I'm having to nag everyone involved to make sure the process is moving.
