  1. My doctor says liquids that day and regular foods the next day. I've had 5 fills , no problems. I will say I am always nervous about what I can eat and usually eat chili and easy foods for a while. Taking my medicines causes me the most problems.
  2. I am 68 , had lap band and hiatia hernia surgery about 5 months ago . I weighed 318 and have lost 68 pounds. I feel good, walk so much better, I had no big problems other then I have a admonial hernia that was too large to take care of at the same time although Dr Joyce was able to do the hiatial hernia that had been bothering me for years. Approval took 6 months , the test took a long time scheduling, stayed in hospital overnight, no problems, the next few weeks went by fast, I was learning to eat the band way and reading all I could about foods and so forth. Now I can go out to resturants and know how to make good choices and not feel left out. I was worried about that. I can walk good and am getting a 3 wheel bike, I am afraid of falling and injuring my knee replacements. I am off a lot of medicines and don't need my sleep machine, I have never regretted doing this .
  3. Thanks for the info, I will do better at drinking my fluids, the nurse told me they coudn't predict my weight goal yet that the stats showed I was retaining body fluid. I sometimes don't drink enough or have to stay up longer to get the required amount. Waiting a hour and half to drink after eating sure takes a lot of time. When I retired I hoped never to watch the clock. Oh well, it's worth it.l It will sure be easier in the summer
  4. Does not drinking enough Water cause retention?
  5. I needed a stress test , not on the treadmill, and it was done in 2 sessions. I'm going thru clearance to get a lap band. They told me the results would go to my primary Dr. I received a call from the heart specialist today wanting me to come see him Wed. I am so scared, is this the norm for these test? I've cleared the other things except the sleep study. I thought I would have my lapband by Aug. I have a hernia in my stomach too, things are looking bleak. Have any of you gone thru this, I am 67 years old, I might have waited to long.I wish the Dr. had gave me a clue if something is wrong.
