  1. I am almost one year into my journey. However, congratulations on taking your first step towards a healthier you.
  2. I just purchased the GENEPRO Medical Grade Unflavored 30g Protein Powder - 2nd Generation! - 30 Servings from the Bariatric Store. They say you can mix it in anything. I am hoping that is the case because I can stand the taste of Whey neither. Have you tried Premier Protein? Most people tend to be able to drink them without a problem and they come in multiple flavors.
  3. oh damn. I do not take vitamins anymore. I actually stopped. I get enough nutrients by how I have structured my diet now. I took Calcium (Twice a Day), Iron (Twice A Day), Biotin (Twice a Day), Vitamin D3 (Twice a Day), Multivitamin (Twice a Day), B12 (Twice a Day): Alive Calcium + D3, Gummies - 60 gummies Nature's Plus Iron with Vitamin C & Herbs, High Potency, Chewable Tablets - 90 count VitaFusion Biotin, Extra Strength, 5000 mcg, Gummies, Natural Blueberry Flavor - 100 gummies Olly Simply Vitamin D3, 2000 IU, Luminous Lemon, Gummies - 70 gummies Nature's Way Alive! Women's Gummy Vitamins Fruit 130 Gummies Nature Made Vitamin B-12, 1000 mcg, Tablets - 160 count bottle I hope this helps.
  4. Yes, I realized that I have not seen any recent post from her either. It is possible she changed her name?
  5. Congratulations. The first steps to a new you.
  6. Well, did they put on you on the pouch reset? Also, are you tracking your calories and macros? I use the following Apps and fitness devices: 1) MyfitnessPal (I track my calories and macros (fat, carbs, protein)) 2) Fitbit (I track my steps and exercise. You can link it to the MyfitnessPal) 3) Purchasing a food scale and smaller portion containers. 4) Try for interval workouts. I hope this helps. I am sure I am missing some things.
  7. Thanks for sharing. @Newme17shared this with me as well. I am thinking of going vegetarian. I want to eat super clean as I am considering doing power lifting.
  8. Hmmm. Have you tried a warm tea. Not too just. Just warm enough that you can feel it?
  9. Are you using your insurance? The reason I am asking is it could be that you Surgical team is putting together the forms and data that your insurance will want and usually the insurance company drags their feet a little. I would suggest contacting your insurance company and seeing if the paperwork was submitted and approved. They actually can tell you. Also if you are paying out of pocket, then most likely, they are trying to schedule everything you would need. Usually, they will provide you with a packet containing your last bit of information. That includes time and date of surgery and all the information you will for before and after surgery.
  10. Have you tried a warm compression? It sounds like a gas bubble that is refusing to come up. You may have to use a warm compression to help relax the muscles. Also, try inhaling through your nose and out through your mouth slowly. This is something that I did and after a while, the bubble came up in a loud burp.
  11. Congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthy new you. However, you are going to have to gain patience because this journey will test you and your will.
  12. My plan is working for me. It is tracking what I eat and exercising. I have one day where I have a high carb count. Then the rest of the week I have a low carb count. This tends to work for me as I have the energy to complete my fitness goals. There is not one way to measure success. Some it is being at a normal BMI, others it is reaching the muscle goals needed to be strong. It all depends on what your goal is and how well you approach it.
  13. I got pregnant after WLS. I got pregnant about 3 months out. I was not aware that I was. I did not know (I rarely get periods, so not getting one was normal). I was working out a lot, not sleeping enough, highly stressed out from work, not eating like I should and skipping vitamins. I was about 5 weeks when I miscarried and found out. It really messed with me mentally because I felt like had I known, I would have done better. I would have relaxed more, slept more when I was tired, took my vitamins. Made myself eat more. I fell into a depression for a little bit, blaming myself. However, since I realized that I could have children, should the day come again, I want to be the best and most active me I could possibly be. I never said anything about it on here because I just did not want people judging me. I never thought I could have children. I was told from 16 that it was not an option. This is why I say, find an OBGYN who is familiar with WLS and pregnancies. Make sure you are eating enough, cut back on the exercise and when you are tired, sleep. Get a good night sleep. Do not put undue strain on your body and do not let things stress you out. I know you wanted a positive story but sometimes the negative ones, help the most.
  14. Oh, It will happen. It is your subconscious coming to the surface and trying to make you give into your wants. Honestly, I had a dream about going into the Supermarket full of Edy's Ice Cream with a spoon and opening all the Ice Cream and taking a spoon full, eating it and then putting them back in their place . I do not think it is something to truly worry about. As long as you are doing what is needed to succeed you should be fine.
  15. In weeks: Week 1 - 150/day Week 2 - 200/day Week 3 - 300/day Week 4 - 400/day Week 5 to 4 months - 500 - 600/day 5 months to 7 months - 600 - 1000/day (Around this time, I took up lifting and found myself being hungry more and needing more meals) - Slowly increased the calorie count each week. 7 months til Now - 900 - 1050/day
  16. Congratulations!!! There are many people on YouTube who documented their Journey and have had successful pregnancies and healthy babies. I had my own personal experience and it did not go well. It's not something I talk about. However, it is best that you find an OBGYN that is also aware of patients who have had weight loss surgery.
  17. Can you provide us with more detail regarding your inquiry?
  18. Oh, the time of the month does not matter. It is only matters that you went that month as scheduled. If you miss a month then it messes up your progress.
  19. April/May 2018 Advice and Support for WLS - That is the name of the group The picture says "It's not that some people have....." I hope that helps.
  20. You should be fine. As long as everything goes well with your surgery, you will be able to walk around. As @frust8 said to remember to drink lots of liquids and to take breaks when necessary. No need to be like a New Yorker trying to catch their connecting train lol.
  21. Oh the dreaded stalls. I retain more with weight training & cardio. If I just do cardio, I have not problem losing. I think it is because we are gaining muscle. Our bodies hold onto water more to help heal and rejuvenate the muscles. By sticking with my current workout style, I have stalled a lot. Fluctuating between 3 - 5 lbs. On only cardio days, I lose a lot of weight but on weight training days, I gain that weight back. I have stopped focusing on my scale at this point and have been focusing on the inches and fat loss. I see a huge change in my body, flexibility, mobility, strength, and stamina.
  22. Halo Top - I love Halo Top
  23. Congratulations on the scale movement. Feels good when start losing again.
  24. Stretching the sleeve is not the problem. Busting the Staple line or creating a leak is. The best thing to do is drink from a smaller cup or put smaller amounts of water in the cup. There are patients who can drink large amounts of water at a time. Remember not every sleeve is the same. However, you are still fresh out and now is not the time to be putting pressure on your sleeve.
  25. Wow, I am sorry to hear that. Well although the experience was not a pleasant one, at least you are in good health!!
