  1. It happens when the surgeon is confident that you will be approved. Also, surgeons need to have your information passed on so that the anesthesiologist and nurses can make a plan for your surgery.
  2. 278lbs in August of 2016 my first Bariatric Appt. 260lbs in March of 2017 starting my 2-week pre-op diet. 189lbs in February of 2018. I all almost 16 months. I had huge stalls due to gaining muscle from weight lifting.
  3. The left is me at 278lbs 5’3. The right is me at 189lbs.
  4. Oh well damn. That just hurt my feelings. Honestly, I think he may be dealing with some issues regarding your smaller frame. He isn’t used to you being smaller so he is acting out in either jealous, insecurity or both. I am sorry you have to hear that but if losing the weight makes you happy, that’s all the matter. Sometimes we have to cut the dead root to really blossom.
  5. I wish I would have taken more before pictures and measured my inches. Those are the only 2 things I can think of. Other than that, I was okay.
  6. @frust8 Oh noo. I wish I was allergic to chocolate. That is my Everest. Dark Chocolate and Milk. Omg. I mean yeah, it could be worst than stretch marks. Hey, those are your tiger stripes and wear them proudly. You bought cubs into this world and had to carry them. Those are mommy marks. You get respect for those.
  7. It is a stall. It happens to some during the first 2 months of surgery and others months after. I have had multiple stalls. My most recent lasted over 3 months. At that time, I had to learn to stop stressing the scale and just focus on getting fit. When I tell people how much I weight now, they do not believe me. They say I look 20 lbs lighter than they thought. That is because I focused those months on toning and getting fit. This journey will help us change our minds and the obsession with the scale if we let it. By changing my focus from the scale, to lifting and increasing my stamina, I was able to track my inches, weight lifting increase and eventually break the stalls.
  8. It all depends on your insurance or if you are paying out of pocket. If you are paying out of pocket, then it is up to the Surgical Center. Most do a 30 - 90 trial. Some require 6 months of supervision. If you're using your insurance, then each person's insurance is different. I had to wait 6 months of supervision before I could get a pre-approval which took about 10 days. Then I was scheduled for surgery and had to do a 2-week pre-op diet.
  9. I have stretch marks on top of stretch marks. I have dark ones to light ones. I have them all over, I am a baby zebra with my stripes. My hips and arms are light now. My stomach has a mixture of light and dark. My back is dark but that is because they are new. I do use Palmer's Cocoa Butter now.
  10. I use the tickers. You can access that, by the clicking the "Create" option at the top of the screen and then click "Ticker". You will then be able to set your ticker.
  11. Your body has gone through a major surgery. Your cycle is bound to be late. If you took a pregnancy test, prior to surgery and it came back negativity than most likely you are not pregnant. I would suggest waiting until the end of the week and then taking a home pregnancy test.
  12. Yes. On the stop of the screen, use the steps below: 1) Click your display name 2) Click Account Settings 3) Click Display name on the left side 4) Edit your name Best,
  13. Congratulations on both of your surgery dates. This time will fly by so fast and soon you will be on the losers bench.
  14. There are pros and cons to everything in this world. I was originally afraid of the surgery after seeing the cons. Then I did my own pros and con list. It was life without the surgery and lift without it. I found that life without the surgery had more cons than pros for me. Honestly, this decision is not easy. This path is not easy. It will be both a physical and emotional obstacle that will test your willpower and desire to succeed. After all the pain, anxiety, stress and so many other moments of feeling like I would fail, I would do it all over again. I have regained my confidence, my self-esteem is at an all-time high, I can do more things and I do not hide from the world. My only regret is that I did not do the surgery sooner.

Just realized that I am forgetting months that I did not post albums for. This is June of 2017
  16. I would suggest speaking with your surgeon. My pre-op diet allowed for non-starchy vegetables. I ate cucumbers, spinach, and pickles with a little vinegar and black pepper. Just see if they would provide a snack schedule.
  17. Yes, it is possible to get the surgery for the wrong reasons. However, doing this to get better, to change your health and to provide them with your presence for a longer life is a good reason. I did this surgery for me. I did it because I wanted to live longer to and to maybe someday start my own family. It does not matter the reason, as long as it is the reason that will make you successful in the long-run.
  18. I love Halo Top. It is the only ice cream I can eat. I have the chocolate and chocolate mocha chip. Those two are my favorite. I do not care for the other flavors though.
  19. Do not be nervous. Remember to be positive during your evaluation. They will ask the following: 1) Family support or personal support. (Even if you do not have support. Say that you do. They want to make sure that you will not fail because of enablers or stress from family at home.) 2) What are your plans for long-term success? 3) Why do you want the surgery? (Say things like, to get back my life and to be healthy) There are other questions that they may ask: 1) About your childhood 2) Reason for gaining weight It depends on the type of psychologist you get. Some can be really critical, some of supportive and then some are in the middle that your answers will determine if they support or become critical of you. Just remember, the goal is to prove that you need this to better your life. No one can tell you what can make your life better but you.
  20. I just found out yesterday that there is a thing called Late Dumping. This happens 2 - 3 hours after eating. Fatigue or weakness Flushing or sweating Shakiness, dizziness, fainting, or passing out Hypoglycemia Loss of concentration or mental confusion Feelings of hunger Rapid heartbeat
  21. Sorry if I posted this twice. I cannot find the original post anywhere.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/groups/341461593034430/ I have created a support group for the April/May 2018 Surgery patients. I am looking for 2 admins who is willing to handle this page as it will you for you all to help each other.
  23. Remember, no matter how slow you think you are losing. Progress is still progress. Also, you can try dividing your weight loss. So you lost 20lbs a month average, 5lbs a week average. That is a great amount of loss.
