I know the feeling. I am down 58 pounds, family is very supportive and gives me compliments. But only 1 of my friends said something about my weight loss. Sometimes people may be jealous that you are losing weight and taking care of your body. Who knows but as long as you notice the change and your loved ones you are around daily help you to continue to reach your goals that's all that should matter

I'm pre-op but down 50lbs and am waiting for people to notice. Still hasn't happened. My boyfriend keeps saying there is a huge noticeable difference but it's his job to say nice crap like that lol. I even asked my mom if she saw a difference and she said "not really, but keep up the good work." Gee thanks mom!

As I lose the weight, now down 70lbs, I expect more and more people to notice and make a positive comment about it. (The exact opposite thought when I was gaining my weight.)
I was with family and friends last week and their reaction was minimal. I was a little bothered by the lack of reaction, and then realized how hypocritical it is of me to want reactions now, but a few short months ago I did not want any attention given to my physical condition.
    A- I am still 280, so it's not like I am skinny.
B- I am wearing smaller size clothes, so my stomach (flat tire) is still visible.
C- it's ok for now as I am only ½ way, and even if no one notices, I do and that is enough.
During that same week we went as a family to Knotts berry farm, I was able to fit on all the rides and roller coasters with my daughters which was a big deal to me personally. I am currently not a slave to my cravings and feel a since of freedom I haven't felt for a very long time.
Do I want people to still notice, yes. But it was a good lesson to learn, I don't need it.

In the months before my surgery i set money aside to cover the time off I needed because I don't get any paid time off.

I also work a desk job, I thought I would be able to go back to work after one week since my job is fairly easy. However I was very wrong, I had a very rough recovery, I was in a lot more pain than I thought I would be in and I'm lucky my boss was understanding and let me take an extra week off. Although I did take it unpaid for both weeks, my body needed that time to recover

Hernias can be anywhere from really painful to zero pain. The only way to know for sure is to be checked out. Most likely you have just strained something, so don't panic. If you develop screaming, debilitating pain... 10 out if 10.. go to the ER.

I had the bypass and was told the pill increased chances of blood clots and therefore had to go off it. Make sure to discuss it with your surgeon as well as your obgyn.

I had to stop my pills before surgery and go with another plan. I got the DEPO shot about three weeks prior to surgery and couldn't be happier. It's already stopped my period which has been great. I was told the pill was a thing of my past.

I asked about my nose ring and if I was allowed to were a plastic retainer in place during the surgery since my nose piercing would close up right away. He told me that was fine, and I took out all of my other piercings. Just about everything else they covered before I even had to ask, they were very very thorough at my pre op appt.

I didn't even think about asking my surgeon when I could get on birth control pot-op... ooops! He is SUPER hardcore about the whole, "No getting pregnant within 2 years of surgery" that it scared me and after about 6 weeks of healing post-op I went and got the Nexplanon arm implant so I wouldn't have to worry about remembering to take any pills or anything. I guess it is different though with the birth control pills, you want to make sure your stomach is healed enough and can properly break it down to be effective! But if you have ever considered the arm implant BC, I recommend it only because it lasts up to 3 years, and it really wasn't bad getting it put in! I bruised a bit afterwards, but that is normal for me! I am liking it so far.

I was sleeved on 17th December and my doctor still wants me to wait. I am a little past 8 weeks and during my last week's appointment when I asked him twice, he told me 'NO'.

Don't know if you've seen this site before or not, but gets recommended a lot. There are some good recipes on there - http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html
For my soft food/pureed stage I didn't do anything crazy. I couldn't do blended foods. I tried once with Soup and it didn't taste right at all. So I stuck with the basics: cottage cheese with a tiny bit of pureed fruit, lots of yogurt, sweet potatoes, refried Beans, scrambled egg with a bit of picante sauce, etc.

One of the best things I had was the ricotta bake recipe that can be found on the link above. That was so damned good I wish I would have made it sooner. Even when I'm out of the pureed stage it's going to be a staple in my diet. It's super easy to make and is really good.

I don't think so. As I understand it, the rule is to prevent washing solid food into the intestine before the stomach has broken it down. With a shake there's nothing to break down.

Walking (fast) can get your heart rate up. Might help with the anxiety. Don't start lifting weights until the go ahead from doc.

I was told to start slow and not push it. I didn't experience much pain after surgery so I was back in the gym three days later.
Consider other ways to relieve stress and anxiety. Sex, with someone or alone, works for many people. Also consider "laughter therapy". By that I mean watch a funny movie and truly laugh every day for an extended period of time. It's fun!

If you do not mind hot Decaf tea, I always had it by my side, and drank more of it because it was warm. I did lemon ginger through the day and lavender camomile before bed.

In addition to popsicles, I made lots of shaved ice / sno cones. This $30 dollar gadget from Amazon works pretty well.
