I'd wait until 1 year for drinking alcohol. I started drinking wine at 9 months and i think it slowed down my weight loss. Also, u might not be able to tolerate carbonated drinks. I know my nutritionist recommended avoiding them. I can tolerate some coolers like 1 or 2 anymore and I'll dump. Cannot stomach beer too gassy...almost 2 years post.

That happens ro me also. I think I may have to go to the mask type that covers the nose and mouth. I keep opening our mouth when I sleep and that defeats the purpose of the machine.

Hi I use a CPAP as well. I didn't have any issues prior to surgery, but now my mouth gets cotton dry AND I end up waking up with my cheeks puffed out with air--crazy! My machine has settings from 8-20 so it can vary during the night as my breathing changes. . Last night I noticed I felt too much air going in my nose. I use the nasal pillows which have been very comfortable for the past 3 years. Mine has a humidifier which I can adjust and sometimes do. I may need to call or schedule with my sleep apnea physician and see what the issue is. As you know it is very uncomfortable to wake up with a cotton dry mouth! I also keep a glass of Water on the nightstand--have for years. However, waking up and having to drink water 4-5 times per night because my very dry mouth wakes me up (along with other issues I mentioned) is not in any way a restful night's sleep for me!

So I was sleeved early January and I sleep with a CPAP machine. I noticed early on that I would wake up with a call completely dry mouth. Not just a little dry, but more like lips stuck to teeth and a tongue like sandpaper dry. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what do you do to combat it?

    Hey John
I was sleeved on the 01/11/17 and I'm doing really well 3 weeks a 1 day after surgery and I've lost 17kgs thus far
I haven't been hungry what's so ever but thirsty as. So I'm enjoying Icy pols and cold fluids. Drinking fluids isn't an issue but it's all about sip sip sip, have forgotten. A few times due to extreme thirst and has to deal with that blockGe feeling but only lasted a few seconds
So happy I decided to get sleeved

We aren't as vocal and chatty as our female friends. More often than not there are a lot of discussions about feelings, food, or fashion. I'm not sure how many male vets are left around here, but after a while we just get tired of the same questions over and over. It's not that there is anything wrong with the questions, we just don't have anything new to add to the discussion because the 6 month to a year members have already taken over the role of answering the common questions.
I have several threads and/or posts on workouts or food ideas. Snoop around and dredge some of them up if you want to generate some discussion on those topics!
Welcome to the forum and good luck.

Being so new to BP I gather you are not aware that there is a GUY's Room group on this site. This is a place for men to discuss everything from Weight Loss Surgery complications, diet, and concerns, to any other off-topic subjects
Perhaps this link will help you. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/431-the-guys%E2%80%99-room/
