    Borderline BMI

My thought exactly! This was my same dilemma. I only needed that initial weigh in and I could lose what I wanted. My surgery is scheduled for 2/8! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Borderline BMI

My insurance requirements were different. I, myself am borderline BMI and once I contacted the insurance company with thoughts of WLS they assigned me a nurse case manager that recorded my weight and I made an appointment with my primary care so I could have my weight documented. I was encouraged to lose as much weight as possible even before it was submitted to insurance. My dr called me on 1/13 and I had a response back from insurance 1/15 that I was approved. The insurance company did require 6 months of documented weight loss attempts and they could be from any months within the past three years as long as it specified the "weight loss" reference and included my weight.
