About Me

    Female
I started my journey in 2009. I had the lap band surgery. Everything was going great, I started at 289 and had lost around 70 pounds.  I work out at least 5 days a week was eating smaller portions going in for my routine band adjustments. Then I notice that I started gaining weight, so I would go in for a band adjustment, but the adjustments were too tight. I started vomiting and having lots of acid reflex. So I would have to go back and the the band loosened. it was just a constant back and forth. Next thing I knew I was back up to 269. I spoke to my doctor and he told me about the conversion and how they found out that the lap band really didn't sustain weight loss. At first my insurance did not pay for a conversion so I had to keep trying to loose weight on my own for about a year.  One day I was going in for an adjustment and the nurse told me that my insurance now pays for the conversion. So I wasted no time in doing all of the paperwork and see all the specialist to move the surgery along.I would say from the time I found out to the time I had my surgery it took about 3 months.

I am now so excited to continue my journey. My whole goal is to get my AC1 numbers down to the point I no longer have to take the medication.
