@snapy17 - Have you taken your measurements recently? Sometimes the body changes, but the scale doesn't move. And go eat some Protein. You just sound like your hangry. Do not climb back down the carb hole.

It has been my daily ritual for years. Diet Pepsi in the a.m. first thing. I'm 51 and cleaned out my closet and found a diet Pepsi coupon stuck in the pages of the a college book from 1993 so it has been really really hard to give up. I've given it up for 5 months now. It's been hard....I guess it was my addiction. Definitely not good for you esp.with you surgery! Be strong !

so Grateful to be heading for 70 (i'm almost 69) and being healthy.
Grateful that I found the courage to have my lapband surgery
Grateful for my wonderful supportive family
So Grateful that I no longer have diabetes or high blood pressure or high cholesterol
Grateful that I was able to go to Alaska and ride horses (my bucket list)
Now I am grateful that I am physically able to care for my husband who has had some serious health issues lately.
And I am so grateful for my banded friends who posts their successes and difficulties. It's been a good thing for me to be able to discuss the ins and outs of the lapband. I still have no regrets and am extremely happy with my results.

So glad to be part of this group. Two thirds to goal and sitting here for quite awhile, but I know it can be done by reading posts from all of you. Thanks for being here.

WELCOME!!! Mine lasted a week and by the 2nd week I was back to feeling good. My hunger didn't come back until 3 weeks later.

I'm a believer that we are allowed to have something "bad" every now and then so long as mentally we are aware of what we're putting in our mouth, and that it can't happen all the time. I had a small slice of cheesecake last night because we were celebrating a birthday. I had to have mine 3 hours after dinner, but I got to have a few bites of it and it was great. I've had some organic baked potato chips a couple of times. I've eaten popcorn at the movie theater twice. Those are about the extent of "bad things" I've had.
This surgery is not (though many seem to believe it is) meant to eradicate every unhealthy piece of food from your life for the rest of your life. That's really setting yourself up to fail because it is natural to want something "bad". What this surgery is for is to push us to eat healthy things first and have the bad things fewer and less of. That's what I stick to. I'm lucky enough that I can have these "bad" things every so often and stick to my healthy eating the rest of the time. In the beginning the first time I broke away from my diet (3 months post-op I had some cheesecake when we went out of town) I beat myself up for it so badly that I was so angry with myself. Then a friend of mine who was the opposite of me, she suffered from bulimia, scolded me for it because for 3 months I stuck to it and I went right back to it after that small piece. I didn't make it a habit, I didn't let it lead me to other things constantly. Her advice was to allow myself those things as a treat every once in a while to keep myself mentally steady. For me it's worked. I know not everyone has the willpower, and it can be a slippery slope if you let it. Be aware. If you're grazing, graze on healthy things like veggies. Save the "bad" things for the once in a while "treats", but only if you are confident that you can stay on track doing so. Having things once in a while doesn't make you a failure.

mollys123 reacted to Hoping052017 in Just had to share my happy today!
So, I have major depression issues and it seems like I don't get "Happy" very often (maybe 3 or 4 times a month, if I'm lucky) so when I do feel happy I just want to scream it to the world and this is one of those days!
Today was the first day in over a year that I was able to take a shower without being in tears from the pain the Water and loofa/washcloth causes. It actually took a minute after I got the courage to put my whole back under the water to realize that I could stop cringing because it wasn't actually hurting that bad! I wanted to scream and shout from the rooftops that I got to take a nice, long, run out of hot water long shower without crying. I did do a happy dance though, that's for sure!
So, that is my happy share for the day. Hope everyone here has at least one happy moment worth celebrating today. I know I did! (And even if it doesn't happen again for a while, I am thoroughly grateful for it).
And if anyone does have a happy moment worth celebrating today (aren't all happy moments worth celebrating? ), I'd love to hear about it!

mollys123 reacted to Djmohr in Need guidance transitioning out of LB jeans. Who is comparable?
For me, I could not get out of them fast enough. About 6 months post op I walked into a Lucky Brand Jean store thinking I would just try a pair for fun and was shocked when I found that a 14 was too big and had to move to a 12 and then ultimately an 8.
They are the only jeans I buy. They are soft, and have movement to them. the more you wear them, the softer they get.
I was thrilled to cut up my Lane Bryant card. I still get mail from them and love to run it through the shredder. LOL

I told people that I'm on a medically- supervised diet and my nutritionist had given me directions to jump start weight loss.
No one cares after that. At 3 weeks you'll be in soft foods, so order lots of Soups

mollys123 reacted to Montana Gal in How many surgeons/hospitals did you visit before deciding?
I would consult as many as you need to be comfortable with your decision, whether it's one or four....I am very limited on choices where I live, the nearest one was 2 hours away. I wish I had the opportunity to consult more. Choose the one that makes you feel the most comfortable and the least amount of stress.
