    Any Aussie sleevers?

It's named pretty unsuspecting. So no one will notice. Im in the same boat, only my closest friends know my plans. Also, private groups won't show up in your feeds. Brookebelynda

    Any Aussie sleevers?

Yep didn't work. I don't really want to withdraw 20kfrom my super so I guess 12month wait begins now haha. Brookebelynda I wonder if you could just pay 12 months worth of premiums straight away and then not need the waiting period! Sent from my SM-G930F using the BariatricPal App Unfortunately no. I even asked a friend of mine who works at Bupa what they could do for me. Nothing amazing. Pretty saddening. The government sets the waiting period so that insurance is sustainable. And I can appreciate that, but when people have been covered for 10+ years then want to get elective surgery it's not fair that you have to wait another 12 months paying an arm and a leg when I've already proven that I'm loyal to insurance. Any Aussie sleevers?

I have insurance right, but I am not at the right level to be able to get WLS covered, I contacted a couple clinics this week, and they have both mentioned that if I raise my cover, and then proceed with surgery once my insurance will cover it, I can then withdraw super out to cover the out of pocket expenses incurred. Has anyone else done this or heard of anyone in Australia being able to do this? I have been covered for 10 years now, so I feel like if I raise my cover, they may waive my waiting time. fingers crossed I guess. haha

    Any Aussie sleevers?

I'm going through Dr Adib Brisbane Obesity Clinic. I get sleeved in just under 2 weeks so I can let you know how I go if you like. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App Yes please! That would be greatly appreciated. How are you going with pre-op diet etc? Brookebelynda Honestly struggling - I'm not good with shakes I cough, gagg and dry reach but I'm hoping it gets easier. Just as well Optifast have the bars as I have been living off them mostly might buy the soup or dessert tomorrow to see how i go. From 1st January I cut out sugar and high carbs so at least I was over the sugar withdrawl headaches etc before I started the pre-op diet. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App Cutting sugar is one of the hardest things, well done for that! With the Opti diet, I can't say that I would enjoy it either. I currently have a Protein shake for Breakfast during the week otherwise I never have breakfast at work. Do you have to have the opti shakes or can you have another shake like a Protein Shake?
