My valve is fubar, so even with surgery on the veins, I don't hold my breath as to long term "cure". But at least my legs are now getting small enough to consider wearing the compression pantyhose.

I have severe varicose veins in one leg. That leg is always larger than the other one. It was never diagnosed as lymphadema, but it IS retained fluid. Anyway, I am 6 months postop and have lost 92lbs. Both legs have decreased in size. My normal leg decreased by 2 inches in circumference, while my bad leg has decreased by 3 inches. There is still an inch and a half difference between them. I don't ever expect them to be equal, but at least the leg does shrink as the fat decreases. I expect yours will do the same.

The surgery will be the easy part. Make sure you will be safe/have a plan for if the person gets out of jail. I also went to Mexico by myself, and had no troubles. When I got home, I wasn't alone, but instead of them taking care of me, it created MORE work for me taking care of them. You'll be just fine! Do make sure you have a ride home from the hospital, and enough food on hand that you don't need to shop for a few days. Get your approved foods (drinks, really) list now, so you can prepare. You look awesome! I had to do a double take, since you are only 3 months post op. It was a long road, but you made it! (For others looking.. the before shot was her hw, not day of surgery)....... *That will keep them from flipping out that THEY didn't lose 100lbs in 3 months -
I also had the yeast overgrowth on tongue. I'm a month out and it is clearing on its own. Great post!

Sounds great! How did you choose between Dr. Ponce and Dr. Illan? Why the mini instead of the RNY?

A concern is the increased chances of blood clots after surgery, combined with restricted movement during long hours on the road. But, this isn't just a short term increased risk.. it will be for about 6 months. Talk to your doctor about this, and you might be put on blood thinners for the risky time. Compression legwear is a possibility too. Good luck!
