Constipation (I can't believe this is my topic!)
The oral meds I was talking about are Milk of Magnesia, Smooth Move tea (I found it in the tea isle of my local grocery), and the miralax. All over the counter. Good luck!

Constipation (I can't believe this is my topic!)
It isn't time to worry, but time to take action. Get an enema. Immediate results while figuring out which oral med will work. I did an enema every two days for the first two weeks until I could start fiber. My GI doc approved because it is just so important to not get impacted. I'm 6 weeks out and don't have trouble now because of the fiber.

Did you lose your boobs?
At 200lbs I was a C and at 305 I was a DDD. I'm down to 268, but haven't changed bra sizes yet. The girls do weigh less though, so there is hope. I hope to be a C again.

Are there foods that are dangerous for your new stomach? Not unhealthy I mean dangerous
It seems that even if they did block something that after a couple days in the moist environment that they would dissolve. If you have any extras, you could put them in water to see what happens. But, as always, ask the doc. The chances of catching a bug are high too, and it may be a coincidence.

Does this seem right?
Interesting study! I did want to point out that only 1 in a thousand had no copies of the gene. Which means almost everyone will lose significantly.

cannot smell skunk
Recipe for removing skunk spray: First, do not use water until the solution is applied. The spray is oil based and water+oil don't mix. Hydrogen peroxide + baking soda + grease cutting dish soap like Dawn. Mix it together and put on the sprayed area for a few minutes, rinse off. Repeat as necessary. I forget the proportions, but basically make a liquidy paste and add the squirt of dish soap. Doubt anyone will be pulling out the measuring spoons!

March sleevers hows everyone doing??
Hmm.. Maybe I'm eating too fast. I just ate 2 whole eggs (over easy) in maybe 10 minutes, tops.

March sleevers hows everyone doing??
Even when the scale stops I keep feeling better. I'm down 22lbs since surgery. 5.5 weeks out. I haven't started working out yet. Even walking is hit and miss. I notice my body DEMANDS I get up and move more and more. Only weird thing is the feeling of having a lump in my throat that I'm constantly trying to swallow. Kinda like thick mucous or something. Is that from acid?

My personal VSG journey take 2
Holy cow!!!! Look at you! Un-be-lievable! Ok so, thanks for a great video, like always. I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering why I hadn't seen an update. First, I have that same shirt! Lol. I have also lost family members, and those dreams are truly... unusual, aren't they? I'm not a superstitious person, but there is SOMETHING in those types of dreams. Thanks, man.

4 day post op
I was on clear liquids the first week. Protein didn't figure in at all (I think that was helpful because I could just concentrate on the drinking without the full-factor). Warm tea, G2, a little apple juice (was too sweet!), water, propel, etc, etc. I got my goal in 4 days postop. I might as well have attached the bottle to my hand!

cannot smell skunk
Lol! Lucky you! I actually never smelled a stinkbug (didn't really know why they were called that)... Until the day I helped my MIL vacuum up a few hundred of the buggers. There was so much concentrated odor that I became sensitized to it

Monthly weigh-ins.....
I had a doctor whose scale was no fewer than 8 lbs incorrect. (Weighed light.. so a 100lb person would weigh in at 92lbs.) Completely unacceptable! Merchants are required to have their scales checked for accuracy. Drs should too. How many people have been declined by the insurance companies because of insufficient bmis? How many of those would have qualified if the Drs scales were correct? (Of course, the opposite is true as well..) Sigh.

HELP! Please Review my food logs and exercise I need help figuring out what I'm doing wrong!
Ok, I got curious, so looked around. It is shameful how much differing information is out there for such a seemingly simple question! I found this chart that coincides with what I was thinking. (The 150cal/mile was based on 300lbs which is what I weighed. My bad). https://www.verywell.com/walking-calories-burned-by-miles-3887154

I don't believe that calculator either. It's saying she would burn 100 calories a mile, which IS rule of thumb for a 150lb person. 150 calories per mile is probably more accurate, which puts it at 375cal.

Electric Bicycles
Last year I learned everything there was to know about electric bikes. Of course I've probably forgotten a bunch of it now, but I have test ridden a few, and they are an absolute blast! They can be pricey, but they are generally marketed as a car replacement. The thing I love about them is it makes riding possible when the biker is out of shape and/or there are hills. The electric assist levels the playing field. For those that haven't heard of them, e-bikes are usually pedalled like a regular bike, but have a large battery and motor that helps boost the bike forward. The operation is virtually silent, unlike a gas powered motor bike. So, anyone have one?

HELP! Please Review my food logs and exercise I need help figuring out what I'm doing wrong!
I have been a "perimeter shopper" for about 10 years now. Single ingredient shopping has lots of benefits, one of which is you know exactly what you just ate. I wouldn't expect the change overnight, but might be something to think about working towards over the next year. (For example.. get plain chicken breast instead of Tyson's breaded, extruded, chopped, processed, colored, salt added chicken patties). Herbal teas are a great way to get flavor variation in calorie free fluids. Flavored black teas are good too, but you want to be aware of the caffeine content. (I drink caffeine, but everyone is different). I don't know if you can tolerate dairy, but yogurt and cottage cheese are very convenient means of getting protein. There is a protein Kefir drink. Not everyone's cuppa.. but 40g protein/bottle. Lifeway I think. With the daily walking, try to get your calories up to 1000 asap. Your journaling is excellent!

HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
4/28 268lbs.

Took a chance
I took a peek at your profile. I honestly think you'll be fine (depending on body shape). I'm pear shaped and 5'7, 268lbs today, and could squeeze into an xl t shirt if I had to. No worries!

Concerned about scars
Well, this is how it went for me: Monday surgery. Tuesday hospital. Wednesday hotel. Thursday hotel. Friday fly home. I felt great on Friday, but then, I'd been on clear liquids for a week. Once I started protein on Sunday, I became more tired. If possible, take a week off work. Most people take two or three weeks off, even for a desk job. For the first 3 weeks, even though I felt fine physically, mentally I was shot. Kept using the wrong words. That has improved, thank goodness. Even yesterday I said "yesterday" even though I meant "tomorrow"! Weird..

Dr. Illan. Yes, I'm very pleased.

Concerned about scars
I didn't see glue on the outside, but there were stitches just under the skin. They were absorbable, but some of them poked me, so I pulled them about 4 weeks out.
