  1. I'm so sorry to hear about this [Hugs] Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  2. They are probably concerned about anorexia and the like. Maybe tell them that you agree you look thin, but the doctor assures you that everything is fine. People really aren't always trying to be rude. They care! I would let the fact that you want to lose a bit more go unsaid in these instances. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  3. It is ok from the surgery pov. Your friend may find it turns the pouch though... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  4. Periods do get mental after surgery. (Irregular). Fertility frequently increases, and of course self esteem boost probably results in more bed-time Sent from my SM-N920R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Some liver shrink diets are actually real food. Lean Protein and non- starchy vegetables. (Like a skinless chicken breast and broccoli). If you tell them you will stick to that plan, then maybe they will shorten the next diet to less than 2 weeks. I know you are disappointed, but I love your outlook! 6. Ok, so tell him it was a surgery for female issues, or a hernia, or your gallbladder out, or even exploratory because the doctor thought you had a bowel obstuction. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App Obstruction Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  7. Waiting with bated breath.... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  8. Ok, give it a good cry! Then take yourself down to the salon and get a new cut that will help. A wig is always an option too. At least you know it should come back. [Hugs]... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  9. Just don't say anything. If your weight loss is brought up after the surgery, you will have had time to figure out what you want to say at that point. You don't need to feel guilty about keeping it from them, especially before hand. How likely is it your family members that know will tell? Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  10. The band is a ticking time bomb. Concentrate on the sleeve and bypass. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  11. I second the tart cherry juice. That other stuff sounds good too! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  12. We got paid yesterday, so I've been shopping! It's a good day! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  13. Every surgeon had to start somewhere, but where would that be? A new surgeon should be working for years with an experienced one. Once he is experienced enough to be out on his own, he isn't new anymore. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  14. A concern is the increased chances of blood clots after surgery, combined with restricted movement during long hours on the road. But, this isn't just a short term increased risk.. it will be for about 6 months. Talk to your doctor about this, and you might be put on blood thinners for the risky time. Compression legwear is a possibility too. Good luck!
  15. It is easy to want to dump people that start treating you badly, but since you have to work with her, it is worthwhile to spend a bit of time trying to change the relationship into a functional one. First off, does she know you had surgery? What was your relationship like before? Can you think of the first time that things felt different between you? 16. Superfab! Even new locks! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  17. I'm speechless... [Hugs] Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  18. I guess I am lucky. I live in a poor, somewhat backward town. LOTS of people are very heavy. I have hardly ever felt like I was treated differently or wrongly. I grew up in a much more up and coming area, was barely overweight, and received a lot more flak. It is helpful that I was already married before I got super big. If I was this big and trying to date... yeah, I definitely can see how that would be hard Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  19. Holy smokes! Great minds work the same, I guess! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

  21. Congrats on the 35 pounds! First off, remember the sleeve is giving you a very special year to lose your extra weight. A once in a lifetime opportunity! Use the opportunity to its fullest! When you get past the cancer scare, you will have a comfortable, healthy body in which to reside the rest of your long days.... Ok, now for the flip side... (Not PC, but I am not one to sugar coat things). Worst case scenario, and you get extremely sick. If you are relatively small, you will find it easier to care for yourself, and it will be easier for the people that are assisting you to help. You underwent the surgery to take control of your life. Do not let this obstacle rob you of your power during this most pivotal of moments! 2 paths lay before you... the one you designed for yourself (weightloss and better health), and the one that has suddenly appeared (mortal fear and self sabotage). Stick to your path. No matter where that path takes you (to good health or bad), you won't regret the journey. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  22. Thanks! I guess it's probably something else, since I haven't had pain.. I'll definitely tell my new doc about my symptoms. Maybe he'll give a hoot! Lol. Last Doc couldn't see past the fat. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  23. You'll have to run that one by your nut. Always follow your surgeon's plan! Congrats, and good luck! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  24. In that aspect, I believe both will be similar. Long term use of Fiber and Probiotics (and plenty of water) should help, no matter which procedure (or none). I wouldn't use fiber the first few days after surgery until Water consumption is up above 60oz. Fiber absorbs water, and if there isn't enough present, could cause a problem. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  25. A keto diet means it is ketogenic, basically very very low carb, high Protein and fat. Being a few years out, you are now in the maintenance phase. Think of yourself the same as you were before the surgery, or same as "regular folk". The weight loss strategies the rest of the world uses are going to apply to you. Take a little time to decide which train to jump on. Go to your local library and/or bookstore, go to the diet/nutrition section, and behold! Everything from South Beach Diet to Mediterranean to Atkins, etc. Keto will be there. Read through the various concepts, and see if any of them sound like something that will work for you. If they promise weight loss without exercise, ignore that part. You must exercise! Good luck! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
