  1. I never liked his comedy, still sad he is gone. Too young to die. Also, could have possibly been prevented had he made a decision to change his lifestyle.
  2. I felt the same way after surgery. I am still convinced my sleeve is too big. I was starving the day after surgery. I am still hungry often and it is not f*cking head hunger. It is legitimate hunger. I thought this surgery was supposed to reduce ghrelin production? Oh well, still glad to be down 45 pounds in 8 weeks.
  3. I will be your sleeve buddy. My wife and I were sleeved about 8 weeks apart. Including the preop diet and lifestyle changes prior to surgery she has lost close to 100 pounds. I was sleeved on 08-31-17 and including the preop diet I am down 45 pounds. I prefer Quest protein shakes made with almond milk. I typically make chocolate shakes and put a small amount of peanut butter in the blender with the protein powder and almond milk.
  4. The diet right after surgery will be hard. Clear liquids, then full liquids, then puree, then soft foods. My dietician said half a cup of food per meal. 1000 calories per day is the goal. 80 grams of protein per day is the goal plus 64 ounces of water. I will be honest with you, it is very difficult. I am a food addict and it has been very hard. I miss all my old foods. having said that I am glad to see the pounds falling off.
  5. I dont regret it, but it is very hard. The surgery itself was easy, it is everything since that has been hard. You need to make sure you are mentally prepared to stop abusing food. I thought I was mentally prepared for that and I was mistaken. I am happy to see the weight coming off and happy to be feeling better, but I do miss the food that I used to abuse. It is a life changing surgery so make sure you are ready for it. I do not regret it one bit and wish I had gotten it back in 2013 when I originally looked into it.
  6. I have dropped 45 pounds. 27 since sleeve 5 weeks ago. I can put my shoes on without dying. My body feels lighter. My mood is improving. I am still hungry often however. Also I have low energy.
  7. I would love to chat with others that suffer from major depressive disorder. Please PM me. A support group would be nice.
  8. Ask your doctor. Sleep apnea isn't something you treat and then it gets better. It's something you live with.
  9. It is basically a variation of a cpap. You will wear it for life unless you lose enough weight that you no longer have sleep apnea. http://www.alaskasleep.com/blog/apap-therapy-machine-automatic-positive-airway-pressure
  10. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder. I felt pretty depressed after surgery, mostly due to low energy and missing food. I am about 5 weeks out and feeling better. The weight coming off is helping but I am finding it hard to deal with my emotions without the comfort of food.
  11. Cool, thank you for the pointers. I think I need to step up my water intake.
  12. Thank you. How did you space these out?
  13. Hello all, I am in week 5 of post surgery. My dietician said I should only be taking in 1000 calories per day. The only problem is, I am hungry every two hours. How can I possibly keep my calories that low each day? Any suggestions or ideas as to what to eat? I am basically eating regular food now. Just want to see what others think. Thank you.
  14. I am sorry you are having so many issues.
  15. I am 38 years old. Suffer from Major Depressive Disorder and OCD. I take medication for both. I have even had ECT before (electro convulsive therapy). I am happy to help in any way I can. Please PM and we can chat. Exchange email or phone numbers for text. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Looking really good. Glad to hear you are feeling better too. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. It will pass. Make sure to get up and move. Bloodclots in the legs are serious and dangerous. You will be feeling better by 72 hours post surgery. I put my personal guarantee on it. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. You are very welcome. Good luck with everything and keep us posted. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. The pillows really aren't bad, you get used to them pretty quick. Before my CPAP I was tired all the time because I wasn't getting good rest. I wouldn't say I love my cpap but I definitely appreciate it. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I was pretty scared. Your fears are normal. I had had other surgeries before and I was still scared. Being put under is scary, you have to trust the medical team as they are the ones monitoring you and keeping you alive. It really wasn't that bad. Once you are put under, the rest is easy. Surgery is the easy part, all you have to do is show up. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. I agree with OP. I am only about a month out and it has been very hard. Food was my escape, my friend, my comfort, my drug of choice, my stress reliever. I am having to learn to deal with my emotions without food and it is very hard. Surgery is not a quick fix. As I said in a previous post, surgery was actually the easy part. Everything since surgery has been way harder than I had anticipated. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. Good luck my friend. Will pray for you. Ironically, I was also very stressed about the IV. Once it was in, I felt better but was still nervous. I told the anesthesiologist I was scared and he gave me something to relax. Then they put the mask on, I prayed and prayed until I was under. Glad it's over. 23. I used to love Premier, but since the sleeve they go right through me. I mean literally. I enjoy Quest now. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
