If I can do THIS, anyone can

Well done! Congratulations on your awesome success!

How long did you take off from work?

I took three weeks off work for surgery, starting the day of surgery. I'm at the beginning of Week 2 now (surgery on 2/15), and I'm only just beginning to feel slightly normal, though I would still not want to go back this week. (Getting a handle on liquids/protein and building back your energy takes time!) I'm planning to return on 3/8, and I fully intend to take advantage of every single day off.

    2/15! Anyone else?

No worries! NUT = Nutritionist There's a FAQ post for the overall sleeve forum that has other common acronyms, too. 80-100g seems like an awesome target-- hopefully that amount of protein will mean no hair loss issues, etc, later. (I'm going to kick it up even more now!) (I typed 75oz of protein, but I meant 75g. Whoops!) Well, if you're getting other fluids in beyond 32oz of Water, I imagine you're okay. The daily plans I've made have about 4 cups of water in them, too.

    2/15! Anyone else?

I was told to get 70oz of fluids and 75oz of Protein daily by my doctor and NUT. There's no specific water amount I was given to shoot for, but sample diet plans include about 26-30oz of water out of the 70oz target. I hope this helps!

    2/15! Anyone else?

Hi all! I had the surgery on 2/15, too. I've really struggled over the past week to meet both my Fluid and Protein goals-- dang, but it's difficult. My doctor said not to worry about protein at this point, just liquids, but I'm trying regardless. I'm with you, jjsasha-- I've been about 15oz short on liquids each day. We just gotta keep at it, I guess!
  6. Congratulations, Renee2017, on your weight loss, and thanks for the encouragement! It really helps. Thanks to everyone else, too, for the positivity and good wishes. Every day is easier, and I'm super excited about moving forward and making changes. Good luck to everyone who's about to have surgery, and all those who've recently had it!
  7. Thanks for sharing your experience, Renee2017. I had my sleeve surgery on Feb 15th, and I've been struggling, especially since getting home. In the hospital, I didn't run into many problems-- yeah, the gas pain was not fun, and I was terribly nauseous the first day, but I felt ready to come home and move forward. My doctor and nurses all said I was doing great and on track...Then I got home on Friday. Since then, the nausea has returned full-throttle (plus some), I'm struggling to drink anything at all, the gas pain is horrible, and I'm terribly, terribly weak. I needed to hear today that I'm not alone in the immediate struggles post-surgery. Thank you again for sharing-- it really, really helps to know it gets better from here!
  8. Good for you, Anina! None of that is easy. I agree with BosseNueva32-- the whole situation doesn't sound right. Something's very fishy. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this, and I hope it all works out!
  9. My surgery is this Wednesday! Eeeeeep! Anyone else feeling/felt particularly anxious before surgery?
  10. My surgery was approved by insurance today! Woo hoo! I am, indeed, getting the sleeve on February 15th! Of course, to balance out the good news with some bad, I broke or severely sprained my ankle this past weekend, which is putting a pretty big damper on exercise. Here's hoping it's not too serious.... I don't want to postpone my sleeve surgery.
  11. I am scheduled for Feb 15th also weshould keep in touch Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App Awesome! Absolutely, we should!

    January and February 2017 sleevers!

I'm scheduled for February 15th. My doctor does not require any type of liquid diet or otherwise pre-surgery, but I'm thinking about doing one regardless, just to make the surgery safer (and to jump start my weight loss). Would any of you be willing to share what you're doing/did? I haven't yet met with the NUT (and I plan on picking her brain, too), but I'd love to hear from all of you as well. Congratulations to everyone who's recently had surgery or are in the final stages of prep! I'm so excited for Feb 15th!
  13. Hi All! I'm scheduled for February 15th, assuming insurance approves it. Eeep! So excited!
