  1. Trimino protein water is really good, also premier protein shakes are very good and high protein
  2. I am two weeks since my sleeve surgery. Over the past week, have not lost any weight and I look more bloated now than following surgery and all last week. Has anyone else experienced this too? I am still liquids only with 5-5oz Protein shakes per day.. Average steps per day around 8,000 (was sick for a day).
  3. I bought my own bathrobe and slippers and wore it the entire time after surgery when walking the halls. Left in a pair of loose sweatpants and button up flannel shirt (went for soft and comfortable)
  4. Pillow for the ride home, slippers and bathrobe if you prefer and change of clothes for when you leave. They will give you gasx, biogenesis, cepacol (sore throat), and toiletries if you need em.
  5. I'm still 2 weeks out from soft/purée but here is my planned... Breakfast-1 egg scrambled with 2 oz puréed beef hash. Lunch-2slices deli turkey Dinner- sugar free bbq ribs (puréed) & ref ride beans. Can't wait!
  6. I found a better way and MUCH less expensive way...make your own. Google chicken crust pizza. Basically take ground chicken, season, flatten onto 6" pizza round or pan, pre bake, then add your toppings! My wife tried it this weekend to get used to this type of cooking, she used fat free bacon and ranch dressing (low cal & sugar, no carbs), grilled chicken, garlic and bacon bits, then low fat mozzarella cheese. She couldn't stop raving! Gonna try marinara, mushroom, onion, spinach and mozzarella next time. I think I'll start a posting for recipe ideas!
  7. I was done on the 9th, I'm on clear liquids for 3 weeks (March 2!) then purée for 3 more weeks before going to normal eating. I did get an ok to have yogurt beginning this thusday, but limited to 4 oz twice a day. It seems rediculous, but I've come this far to not follow their process at the end.
  8. Congratulations! Good luck, your gonna do great! Walk when you can, it will really help afterwards.
  9. Awesome! Do you use Fitbit! If so, friend me for group step challenges. You can find me by my email : vban@charter.net
  10. Captain, check out www.bariatriceating.com, they have some incredible recipes (including pizza, meatloaf, general Tao chicken, pulled pork and so much more!). Also look at http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/. It is another great site with great recipes and ideas. Got are geared towards Bari patients so all low carb, low sugar and high protein. Good luck, I look forward to hearing about your progress!
  11. I wore sweatpants and my bathrobe
  12. I would love to find a cookbook that focuses on the Bari diet.
  13. When is your first post op? I'm surprised you have to wait, I thought mist started next day. I am taking, since surgery (10 days now) multi, D, Calcium and B plus the Zantac.
  14. It is a myth. Here is the video explained by surgeon. http://drmatthewweiner.com/how-to-prevent-your-stomach-from-stretching-after-weight-loss-surgery/
  15. My doctor scheduled another sleep study 45 days after surgery. It it is clear, I can stop using.
  16. One week for me, bury could've gone back even sooner. Everyone responds different though. You will know when your ready
  17. Captain, you know that was not a good decision, so don't dwell on it, instead let it be an opportunity to have you refocus on the process. Remember, surgery is not meant to be a miracle cure, but rather is a tool to help you change your lifestyle. All the preparing has brought you to this point, but the journey continues. Over the next year, you should be concentrated in maintaining and creating healthy eating habits. Find alternative healthy solutions and start with those. Have a discussion about this with your Nut and Psych as well as your doc. You may also see if there are any sleeve support groups in your area. You can do this!
  18. My nutritionist, primary care Dr. & Surgeon all advised me against the patches. I am post op and just take the chewables.
  19. Get rid of the chocolates! All of the work, changes and sacrifices you have made, yet you don't want to hurt his feelings! I think you need to asses your priorities. YOU SHOULD COME FIRST! Though he may not have all the "details" of your surgery, is he that ignorant not to hear your comments and requests before hand? And when asked to say it was stupid; No, he he was stupid! Let him see you trashing them, it will show that you mean what you say. If he has a problem with it, that's his problem to deal with.
  20. GREAT ATTITUDE! Your gonna do great!
  21. The stomach does not stretch. Check out this website (some great presentations on vsg'rs) it has one presentation specific to this question and presented by the surgeon. http://drmatthewweiner.com/how-to-prevent-your-stomach-from-stretching-after-weight-loss-surgery/
  22. No sound when I play, can you include the web page link?
  23. Kim, go to your insurance website and they should have the requirements for wls approval there. You should also be able to ask your doctors office if the are familiar with ALL of the requirements by your insurance company. Better to know before finding out last minute you missed something. A friend of mine had a 6 month wait, went through the entire process and had to restart as on two of his supervised appointments were in the same mont. Insurance required 6 consecutive months. He was not too happy, but had to start over.
  24. High blood pressure, cholesterol, Apnia, diabetes
