    Diet coke

I haven't been a soda drinker but been have taste for carbonated drink (flavored water etc). The nurse at my doctor's office said the reason I shouldn't drink soda is because it stretches the stomach pouch...undoing what I had done. I didn't know this. I just thought it was because of sugar intake or other unhealthy aspects of drinking soda. Certainly don't want to undo goals we are achieving with weight loss.

    Goal Achieved!

Congratulations! You look fabulous! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I was told by physicians that making sure you get Protein helps with losing fat instead of muscle....which contributes to look you mentioned. I too am hoping to continue to feel & look healthy & not sickly. So let's hope protein & exercise helps. (Hope drs are right ) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Congratulations! I don't have a personal testimony either. However, someone I know got pregnant fairly soon after their vsg surgery. This came as a shock to her, because prior to surgery she couldn't get pregnant & at this time she was 40 years old. The only thing that seemed hard for her is when her drs ordered tests that she had to drink something prior to testing (likely health test because her age). Her weight loss didn't affect the baby. Many babies after weight loss surgery are under weight but still healthy. The good news is that she now has a healthy 6 month old baby boy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Eating often?

Ok, today I tried the P3 (protein) snack pack & I finally found something that is easy for me to eat. Part of problem of me eating was choosing food that doesn't hurt to eat. Thanks for whoever mentioned these Snacks...it's like a lunch meal for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Eating often?

I'm three weeks out...I also struggle between eating & drinking & one or both go lacking because I'm often not hungry. Then I sip when I drink so takes me forever to finish. I can't tolerate taking my chewable Vitamins. They taste horrible & are too huge. I need to do so much better. Perhaps I need to make a schedule as well. vitamin suggestions

Prior to my surgery I was concerned about price of Vitamins as well. So I got chewables...but after surgery they are very difficult for me to eat. They taste like chalk! And they are too huge. So I prefer the chews (star burst looking). Cost little more but better for me. So think about taste & what your tolerance level might be after your surgery. 8. I was told by nutritionists to eat something every 2 hrs. Is that even possible? Who's eating that often? What are you eating? I'm not that hungry... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. I purchased the bariactric multi Vitamins & the citrate Calcium supplement...which are huge! Both taste like chalk to me. The citrate are way too big. Which vitamins are you using? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamins and suppliments

I would advise small & easily chewable ones. The nutritionists at my drs office gave several bariactric Vitamin samples before surgery. I liked most of them. After surgery I got the chewable ones & now they are very difficult to tolerate! They are too big & taste chalky. And they make me feel full. I wish I would have gotten the ones that look like candy(Carmel, chocolate etc.).They taste better & are so much easier to consume. Little more money but worth it. How many calories...

I think things will get better. I still have some discomforts but it's not as bad as it was...so it looks like it's getting better. However like you I'm wondering how long overall this will last. Especially since I wanted things better at least a week ago or before. Lol I have occasionally heated up a potion of my Protein shake or put it in my oatmeal. Regrets after surgery?

@@ecoreen94 I'm sorry you've been sick. Have you been nausea? Vomiting? Pain in chest/stomach....after eating? I was sleeved three weeks ago& I still feel tightness in my chest/stomach after I eat. My doctor told me to eat slower & gave me a stomach muscle relaxer as well. Seems like it takes me forever to finish eating certain foods. Don't regret everyone's body is different & it could just take time for your body to adjust to your new size stomach.
