    Band to sleeve - reflux

Has anyone who had reflux with the band not had it with the sleeve? I never had reflux till I had a band the reason I had it was the band was too tight. I was advised to have the bypass because of this. Band was removed 2 months back but no revision to bypass due to the mess the band had made of my stomach (it had attached itself to my liver) I now need to wait to December to have the next stage. But unsure I want the bypass now swaying towards sleeve but don't want reflux again x
  7. Had mine done 2011 had it removed 2 months ago but could only have it removed not sleeved due to the mess the band had done to my stomach - band had eaten its way into my liver [emoji51] Originally requested to have it removed & to have bypass at the same time but I am swaying to the sleeve now but still unsure as I had bad reflux with the band & here you have the same issue with the sleeve? Xx

Revision done at the same time

Thank you glad to know they can be done the same time no matter what surgery x
  9. I had a band fitted 6 years ago, lost 6 stone but then developed awful reflux. Looked into having the sleeve but was told by my doctor that would still mean reflux & that he would prefer the bypass. At the time he suggested having the band removed as it deflated now anyway (all 6 stone regained) before bypass but I'm a chick n when it comes to surgery so have asked him to remove it at the same time as the bypass - he did say he would but it is makes the surgery a bit more longer & the recover time a bit longer too?? Has anyone had both done at the same time please & what is your experience? Xx
  10. Dry shampoo is a good one in case you end up being in there for a few days x

  12. I take it RNY is bypass? I've got about 4.5 - 5 stone to loose so hoping sleeve will be the best option x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. This is great for me to read as I'm in 2 minds too & I use to always bring up food with the band especially at night time so much so me teeth started to suffer. Could I ask what GERD is please? This is now making me wonder if bypass is the way forward x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
