@@StarPower You will feel 'full' and/or 'satisfied' again...you won't feel any of the true restriction of your sleeve, though, until you're eating denser foods. The pain goes away (which is awesome!), and you'll learn what the 'I'm done' feeling is like. Mine is like a darned STOP sign goes up and I'm done.

I did not realized i was living my life in bondage. My body was/is my cage. My fat is a leash. Once i started losing my little walks are like freedom. My body screams get up move dance it craves it my mind say no remember walking hurts dancing causes pain. I fight my sub conscious everyday and each time its a sweet surprise I can move i can walk. I never knew how much i missed it. Mentally i wait for the pain and i approch each movement timidly. But the pain never comes so i do more but my leash hold me back still i realize im not ready my journey is still not complete but i reached a new level. So tomorrow i will fight to walk again enjoy the surprise of no pain again and walk a few steps futher. My body is my canvas it is no longer my cage my fat is my clay each movement shaping and twisting it to chisel a better me. My movement is my freedom.
I played a game of football catch with my son today we even had a jogging contest. He knows my goal is to play a real game of basketball with him and his father.

These two people have very different lives, the one on the left hated Mondays because he had to go to work and didn't feel well because he only had 3 hours of sleep due to the fact his sleep apnea tried to kill him every night. The one on the right cannot wait to wake up after a great night sleep, to get to the gym and sculpt his guns.

I'm a private person and have not told anyone at work about my surgery. Last Friday a co-worker, who is also obese, took the liberty to comment on my weight loss. " You're just wasting away! You look good. But you don't need to loose anymore weight."
I was so shocked and really wasn't ready for a comment like that. All I could do was laugh it off.
Fast forward to today. A different co-worker said the same thing to me. " You're wasting away"
I just responded with "yeah your right."
All of my co-workers are used to seeing me at 260 pounds . I am now 185. I'm still obese and have no intention to self sabotage my progress because of anyone's ideal of what "Looks good enough."
My goal is to become healthy and maintain a "normal bmi." I'm sure others will begin to comment even more as time progresses.
I'm staying on plan and I'm ready for the haters.

When I saw this topic I could feel my blood pressure rise. LOL!
It irks me when I see or hear people say this, especially on TV or magazines. They have absolutely NO idea how hard we work to get healthy nor do they understand that obesity is a metabolic disease.
There is such a small percentage of people who are successful long term losing weight and ultimately keeping it off. I believe it is less than 5%.
Honestly, this is frustrating. The medical community outside of bariatric teams are somewhat clueless about it too. If only they would do better education maybe the public would understand that it is a metabolic disease and to cure it long term surgery is really the best option.
UGH......just adding to your rant. LOL!

Was just watching GMA (Good Morning America) they had two girls who lost a lot of weight and were half their size. I guess they're featured in People's Magazine because they had the editor on there and they asked why they choose those particular girls. Her response was because they lost weight the hard way no surgery no gimmicks. It really upset me to hear that because it feeds into the idea that surgery is the easy way to lose weight, but if only they knew the dedication and hard work we put in as well. I wish people would educate more before opening their mouths about anything. I don't know why it has to be a competition anyways as to who lost weight "naturally" and who got surgery. Either way you lost the weight, you're getting healthy, no way is better than the other. Okay rant over lol

Did Google it. From what I quickly read it's not a starvation mode it's because of your metabolic rate. Hmm live and learn think I'll still talk to my surgeon about it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using the BariatricPal App

I'll have to ask my surgeon about this. Because I'm fairly certain starvation mode is not a myth. This subject was talked about with my nutritionist and during my classes. If your body goes without enough fuel to run it. Then the body changes how it uses and burns the fuel. That results in less weight loss. I could be wrong. Might have to Google it now. Lol
