  1. I suffer from chronic constipation for years and I haven't even had surgery yet , I take dulcolax and sennoxen. I'm sure it will get worse when I have surgery but my body is used to the laxative so I am hoping I don't have any more constipation than I already have. I have tried all kinds of Fiber before and it never worked for me.
  2. I'm using the phentermine to try to get my weight down for my surgery and it helps, don't criticize people for using medications unless you're in their shoes, everyone's story is different.
  3. Well tell everyone that you have arrived !!!
  4. I just have to say I hope my results are as great as yours are, I have three more classes and I will be on top of my insurance like glue to keep them moving me along. I still can't get over how nice you look, it always seems like I'll never get there. But I'm damn sure gonna try !
  5. I've only watched it on TV but I think I'd like it too, I like lifting weights but the indoor treadmill doesn't thrill me.
  6. Wow, very inspiring, I am getting excited, you look so cute . I can't wait to start clothes shopping
  7. I think it's a great thing it gives you a chance to see how many things are out there to love that don't obsess about food. You're gonna have a blast. I can't wait until my date.
  8. Yes if it's your time it's your time she feels like its my fault if I die because I am putting myself in such a position that I can get it off without surgery.. it doesn't even matter anymore I have three more classes and it's off to approval time, I'm happy and healthy enough to know what's good for me, not anyone else but me. I've never had a surgery I elected to have and regretted it so I know this is going to happen and I've already started purchasing my pre op shakes, I pray to god I will like them, but I'm drinking them anyway.
  9. This use be the place to be because you've reached all the way to Chicago, Illinois keep posting we need stories to learn from everyone.
  10. I have an Italian mother and she thinks the world revolves around her. When I ask her for advice about other things in general it's usually not a judgemental answer. Ever since I decided to have wls I have been telling her I am just going to the nutrition classes just to learn how to eat. I just don't ask, tell or discuss wls, I finally told her I was 55 and I have made my decision and I'm having the surgery. My surgeon is the Director of Metabolic surgery and has great credentials. My mom comes home with one horror story after another about people dying from this surgery. I finally told her that if I have to be so fat that I don't even want to look in a mirror, I would rather die than live like this. On top of all that she buys tons of coffee cakes, donuts, and candy which I don't even like any more, but if I make one box of chocolate no sugar added pudding then they all want what I am making. We had an argument about that and then she started on the dinner I made for her the previous night. Am I expecting too much or are they being ridiculous? I really feel that if I need to eat something sugar free I should be able to, am I wrong? Someone please explain to me what to do, I have til March to finish my last three classes and they are really making this alot harder than I think it should be. I have absolutely no support here but I am having this surgery and I'm sure it's what I need.
  11. It's like when you eat protein you just don't have such a craving for sweets
  12. Thank you that's what I said
  13. I wasn't meaning to sound negative I just wanted her to be sure she tried every other way because she is only 28, but I stand corrected because I was new to these forums and there is alot of younger women wanting this surgery. I was more or less thinking of how easy it was for me to lose weight at 28. Everyone's different, I didn't have a problem loosing weight. I quit doing drugs and after ten years I seem to know have a food addiction. So I definitely wasn't trying to come across to her as negative, because I know how it feels to have people put you down.
  14. Yes I could easily get shot in Chicago quicker than getting this surgery. When I tell her to read up on it she wants nothing to do with it, she just wants me to change my mind and I'm almost done I'm not backing down. I even have a have a friend go to surgery with me she says she wants no part of it.
  15. My mom is dead set on trying to keep me from having this surgery and I am dead set on doing it. She knows a woman at her work who knows someone that died from the surgery. I suspect she is asking the same person everyday at her work and just keeps telling me the same story everytime. I'm going to my one support group requirement tonight and after that I have a nutrition class on the 20th of Jan and only two classes left after January. All nay sayers aside, I can't wait. I have noticed that since I started eating more protein anything sweet I eat makes me nauseous.
  16. I'm bipolar also and they just need me to give the papers to my psychiatrist to approve me on her end.
  17. So sorry you're sick hope you get better soon
  18. I'm having the sleeve but I'm going to talk to the Dr about also doing a rerouting of small intestines because I've heard it helps alot for people with chronic constipation, do you know if this is true?
  19. I believe they can do the sleeve with the bypass just reroute the small intestines.
  20. Don't let one cheat, cheat you out of the rest of the time you have left just dust yourself off and get back to it. You seem to be doing great!
  21. I've read that after the third day your cravings shouldn't be so bad , at least that's what I read.
  22. My parents just think I'm going to die from the surgery so you see how helpful they are lol
  23. All the people on this site are getting excited because they have a surgery date your all making e excited to get mine done and when you think about it three months comes really fast.
