Becca125 got a reaction from Iscarelys in 124.7 LBS Down, 9 Months Post-Op
Way to go! That's amazing! I just got back from my weigh in (pre op...my surgery is scheduled for January 25th) and I was feeling very anxious, and unsure... Then I read your post and that helped me so much... I am so happy to hear that you are doing well this is by far the hardest yet best decision I've ever had to make... I have a long way to go but you give me hope ☺️ thank you

Thank you so much.. I know in my heart this is what I need to do and I have had so much positive feed back on how well others have done it's very reassuring and helpful to me. One day at a time for now that's how I'm dealing with it .. The future will be what it's meant to be and I believe it's got many wonderful things in store for me if I work hard at it Sent from my 6045O using the BariatricPal App

I guess the most important thing I have learned through this whole process is that I HAVE to do this for me... If I tried to do it any other way I would never have been able to get where I am right now...ultimately me being healthy again will benefit those I love but I had to start loving myself first.. (hope that makes sense) as for the diet I was never actually put on a specific diet although in a group discussion they did bring up Medifast and lean and green diet... I started myself on a 1500 calorie diet and now am down to a 1200 calorie. They said if it's working stay with it so I am lol I have been reading allot on this app about the liquid diet but no one has mentioned that to me personally (at least not yet) I have an appt with my surgeon on the 17th of January (8 days prior to surgery) so that may very well change! Thanks for your support and again congratulations!! I'm so happy for you ☺️

So my surgery is just a month away now and I had to go for my bi weekly weigh in this morning. When I started this process in September they had asked me to lose 37.5lbs before my surgery. Well as of today I am down 44lbs and that leaves time for me to lose even more hopefully making surgery and recovery even easier.

Tommy you practically brought me to tears brother your truly a Christmas miracle. You have so much courage to put your story out here and help so many people that are struggling with weight. You are my true hero. I'm probably looking at surgery sometime in Feb.
I would probably guess the hospital bill in NYC would be about 3 million dollars lol. Tommy I hope we can be friends even though I'm a Yankees Rangers fan
Going to you tube to check your videos out. Merry Christmas brother keep up the good work and keep us all posted.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your story. I just started this journey to a healthier life back in September and have felt so alone in this world. No one really understands what it's like to travel this road. I have a good support system but to honestly understand is impossible unless you've lived it. I just recently found this app and your story was one of the first I came across (I will admit I cried when I read it) but I also found it very inspiring and informative. I actually posted "my journey" because of you. I have never before talked about my personal journey let alone post ANY pics on any site. That was just too embarrassing. However after I posted it I actually felt more empowered than I ever have! I told it.. I owned it.. and I'm proud of that. Thank you for giving me that precious gift. I am still trying to navigate this app and figure out all I need to know so I'm hoping this gets to you lol (I tried to message you but it wouldn't go through) ️ God bless Sent from my 6045O using the BariatricPal App

#Speechless. Please read: I remember vividly waking up March 11th and being so nervous, questioning if I should go through the surgery... Dozens of fears about the unknown surfaced. I shook it off and told myself that I could do it! I carried two babies full term, so this was nothing! Now that I am 9 months out, I feel AMAZING! While I input my weigh-in for this week, I was blown away to read that I'm OVERWEIGHT and not OBESE! My BMI is almost at my target goal, I am 25LBS AWAY from my goal weight... I can just cry right now! I'm becoming a normal, healthy person and that is so valuable to me. The time I have invested in this for me has definitely been worth it! This is a good Christmas present to me from me! 124.7LBS down and I am NOT STOPPING!

When I start have anxiety I learned a few things to help get through it, usually their are signs/ triggers that sets it in motion, learning to recognize them helps, for me it is that I am in fear and my mind is focused on it and I don't have control. That is my lie " I don't have control " I have written on paper quote that inspire me or scripture that speaks opposite of what I'm believing. I slow down "usually hide in bathrooms" pull the paper out, I always keep it with me. I read slowly and think about the words and who I am, the positive. If I need to cry I cry, embrace were you are in your journey. You are a strong confident person who has so much to offer this world and the world deserve YOU! Most people around me does not know I have the paper with me, it is just one tool that helps me. Sorry for your loss. Loss of a loved one is a deep hole in our hearts. When we Celebrate their life it makes bridges over that hole that allows us to move forward. They are a part of our journey. I'm sure your daughter would be so proud of you for this step you are taking to get healthy. I wish you peace and joy on your journey morningangle79.

2 major ones this past year and I flatlined twice
I can understand your fear. In my case it was such a battle with my health insurance company prior to surgery, that I just put blinders on. I charged ahead full steam and there was no time to self-reflect. The main reason why I had the surgery was because of health issues. I had RNY gastric bypass surgery over 3 years ago and the surgery corrected many of these health issues and it happened almost overnight.

Hi my name is Rebecca and I'm on my way to a healthier life! So I am a 46 year old mother of 4 grown children (amazing children ) I have suffered from bipolar depression, ptsd, anxiety with panic attacks, and borderline personality for many years. As a result I have been on numerous medications that have caused me to gain significant weight, as well as having used food as my "comfort" food... That was the beginning of a life long struggle with weight. This past two years I have had a stroke and a mini stroke, my left knee has been totally replaced twice and is still very unstable so exercise is virtually impossible and my weight reached an all time high of 383lbs! In August I decided to take control and regain my life back.. Starting in September I met with the Bariatric team and have since lost 34bs 4oz and now have a surgery date for January 25th ...I must admit that as excited as I am about my new healthier lifestyle I am also very very nervous and constantly anxious about the "unknown". I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, Fibromyalgia, and other health issues that can only be improved with the gastric bypass so I have weighed the pros and cons of it all and feel this may be my last chance of ever getting back to the "healthy Rebecca" that I need to be for myself, my husband, my children, and my precious grandson.
