  1. Does anyone purposely go to bed hungry or do you eat if you're hungry right at bedtime? I've always ignored the hunger and went to bed. It's not acid reflux (haven't had any, praise God!), but real genuine hunger. I could eat anything right now. In the past (healthy days), I learned to just go to bed, something to do with making the metabolism work/calories burn, etc. don't remember exact science. Also in the past (non healthy days) I thought I'd be hungry and would end up eating a snack before bed. But that was refux.  So even though I'm genuinely hungry now. I wouldn't even want to start up that terrible old habit I had. I think I posted my status out of even thinking of getting something to eat, even if it's healthy.

I do not eat past 8 PM unless I am extremely active that day or I am way behind on my protein, like below 60. Other than that, being hungry, well wanting to eat, is a sign I need to go to bed. I drink a glass of water and go to sleep.

I don't eat after my 7pm snack (which is usually a cup of yogurt). Occasionally I'll be really hungry and have a small late night snack with lots of protein (I had a slice of smoked salmon last night), but I feel bloated and icky the next morning when I eat too late the night before.

Thank you all for your responses. When I think about why I was hungry last night, I realized that all I ate were veggies for dinner. Sure, a bit of cashews, but nothing that would keep me for a few hours at least. So, poor choice on my part. I'll have to work on that. I think I'll stick to not eating before going to bed, BUT I will make sure I have something protein-filling around 7 or 8pm, so I won't be super hungry like I was last night. I did wake up this morning very hungry, so I ate a scrambled egg about 6:30 am! I usually don't eat till nearly 10.

Still working out the kinks of this new stomach, so...thank you again for your inputs. I'll surely use them.
