  1. Hang in there. Fat cells I understand also release hormones, so there is a lot going on. I think you will see that depression/anxiety becomes more manageable with the weight loss.
  2. Just did my three month w my surgeon. Down 58 pounds since surgery. He said that is very successful.
  3. Dudes, thank you for sharing. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  5. You wear very heavy clothes to that weigh in! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. Great idea to put protein powder in a decaf coffee. Any one else find decaf coffee helps with constipation? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Wow, I had no idea. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm month 3 after gastric bypass and down 50 pounds. I am losing about 1-2 pounds a week now. Is that at a normal rate or should I be losing more? I'm a dude if that helps, and started at 270. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. What's going on. I'm down 50lbs. I'm losing more than a pound or two a week now. Normal? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Singer here. It's also more fatiguing. I think six weeks for me too to get through a rehearsal. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. Definitely a good idea to read up on ketosis. I think people who have never been on Atkins or South Beach don't understand how it differs from a straight-up low calorie diet. That transition into ketosis is no fun! And the water-weight gain from storing glycogen again is going to upset people who put a lot of stock into what their scale says. Thank you. The Water retention is actually a noticeable feeling. The result of just one day of substituting just a small amount of calories. No weight gain thankfully. Have this forum to thank.
  12. So that explains the headache today. 100 calories of a chip appears to do more harm than good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Can dumping happen hours later? I ate something with 17 grams of sugar by accident this morning and now 10 hours later feeling a bit woozy. Could also be something else... weather related, blood sugar, weird bypass wooziness. I don't know. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I think this is a good suggestion, adding protein power to food you can tolerate. Foods like yogurt, Soups, no sugar pudding, Sometimes I make a shake with almond milk. I think you should try just making your own shakes. Water, protein power (I've seen some good selections at GNC -- like a cinnamon one that tastes like Churro!) Check out powered Peanut Butter. I think the GNC brand is called Daily Powered PB. costco has one they are selling right now which is the more popular brand. 90% less fat, and 7 grams of protein to add to things... Good Luck!
  15. Sounds like you are in good hands. Dr. Fuller & his team are fantastic! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thanks for posting, very helpful. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. @Bree1984 I'm doing pretty good. Took me about 3 weeks to get there. Random fatigue was an issue but doc said that is normal. I'm going really slow introducing new foods. Not of fan of the pain that comes with eating too fast, or not chewed up, or w/e reason I have an episode. I can see myself drinking Protein shakes for a long, long time.
  18. Thanks, this post is very helpful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. My Nutritionist (have a hard time using the abbreviation NUT for them) has me at meal, snack, meal, snack meal. Meals/snacks limited to 30 minutes. Then 30 minute wait and back to liquids. I find that drinking liquids solves some of the hunger issues but if I am still having hunger issues I eat a food that doesn't agree with me. Like cottage cheese, two bites and I'm done thinking about food because my stomach is dealing with it. Whatever works right. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I do a vegetarian version used tofu crumbles as a meat substitute. I also did a similar dish with lentils, Tofurky sausage and tomato sauce. Have to purée that sausage a bit when it's done otherwise it's not pretty. #steelers Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I'm a dude. Bypass on 12/13 at 270 and down 35 pounds. Doing about 1 or 2 pounds a week now. Don't care about the scale, just sticking to the calories, and know my body will adjust. It has no choice really. That's the science part. Without the surgery there is no way I could maintain 600 to 700 calories a day. I remember when I thought 1500 calories was impossible to maintain a few "diets" ago. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I'm in So Cal, had my bypass done at Scripps in La Jolla in December 2016 down 35 pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. You look great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. For type 2 diabetes folks this is presented as a benefit, and better option than the sleeve. Sleeve patients do not experience dumping. Regarding addiction, food addicts cannot abstain from eating. It's not the same as alcoholics who can completely abstain from drinking alcohol. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  25. Congrats, very inspirational. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
