Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi Everyone.....I was banded July 10th and I received my first fill on Aug 11th. My next appt is Sept 11th so I'll probably get another fill. Sometimes I can eat and sometimes I'm not hungry - but if I don't eat then I feel a little nauseated. I'm losing more inches than pounds so far. I can tell it in my clothes. Finally I feel I'm at the point that I can use my lapband as the tool it's intended for. Sometimes I forget....and I feel like food is stuck so I still have to work on my CHEW CHEW CHEW!! Hope everyone else is going good in their weight loss. I love reading the different posts. I'm glad we have this site to turn to and the support of so many bandsters. TTYL..........

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

When I bend over I feel pain like somethings pinching me inside - it's by my large incision. It really hurts. Sometimes I don't feel it at all. Anyone else have this type of problem? Next post op is Aug 11th. Received band on July 10th - 3 weeks ago and I'm already on regular foods and I can eat a lot sometimes and other times I can't. Is this normal? Thanks

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

July 10th was my day! I just started eating regular foods at 3 weeks. Sometimes I can eat a few spoonfuls of oatmeal and feel full and it almost gags me :crying: and then other times I feel (and) can eat a whole lot of food. I actually ate a whole bowl of oatmeal this evening. The 1st post op I had lost 4 lbs but of course that was right after all liquids. Now I feel like I've gained that back. :tt2: My next post op is Aug 11th. I'm still healing so is this telling me that I'll probably need a fill? :confused2: They said to eat until I get full but sometimes I think I'm eating TOO much. I'm still sore. Except some days I can't feel it much ... then later in the day it hurts like it's sticking me on the inside. Is this normal? Well just thought I'd ask to see if anyone else feels this way. TTYL everyone. MsPriss4:tongue:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi all.......... I'm 57 - I'm hoping that my age isn't going to make this surgery any harder to deal with. I've always been able to handle pain but it's still scary. The whole thing is scary and I REALLY think IT IS because of my age that I feel this way. Anyone have some comforting stories to share with me - especially the ones that are my age? Yes, I realize that everyone handles situations differently. I guess I just have to keep thinking positive. I'll be back to consult and let you know how it all goes. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this!! :confused2:
  9. I'm supposed to do the Atkins diet but I can also have sugar free popsicles and sugar free pudding. I'm hung up on popsicles now. I'll even be able to eat them as liquid afterwards. MsPriss4

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi Everybody - I was supposed to have had lapband surgery almost 2 years ago and due to cancellations (son in hospital) and other rescheduling problems, I think I'm almost there now. I had to re-do a Psych evaluation - the first one had expired. I told them I didn't go crazy since then but they didn't believe me! Just Joking....I know what it's actually for. So.........now I'm waiting on one last consultation call from the dietitian because they almost had me re-do those visits too. I said no way.........I couldn't afford anymore for now. Anyway.........then I get to go see the doctor again and hopefully a date will be set at that time so maybe I'm looking at the middle to end of June 2008. I do have to stay overnight the first night. I took Indiogirl55's advice and went to the Unjury link she posted. I ordered samples of the protein drink - cost a little over $10.00 but it's worth it because if I buy the a large quantity and then not like it....it'll be throwing money away. So thanks Indiogirl55. YES, I am scared and will be so glad when it's all over with. The surgery, I mean. I know my lifestyle of eating habits will have to change. That's also scary BUT....as long as I'm not hungry and I see results - I'll be fine. I'm so glad this forum is out here. It really does help with a lot of questions and you people give great advice from your own experiences. I wish everyone luck in losing the weight you want to. Janelle/MsPriss4
