  1. This is what I've been wondering, too! But I know no matter what happens, I will get to enjoy LIFE more after surgery. @@reree6898 You are gorgeous! Inspiring pictures!
  2. I already take zoloft for depression, so I will resume that ASAP after surgery. And exercise!
  3. Mine is in two days! I feel the same as you-- I'm so nervous, but I'm also SO excited! I just want Friday to be here!
  4. @@HuneComz We definitely have Big Lots here in TX. What does the atkins water taste like?
  5. @@theantichick Yeah I'll probably do more sample packs here later! Have you tried Millie's Sipping Broth?
  6. I've been craving a cheeseburger since I started the liquid diet!
  7. @@heidikat72 It's more expensive than the amazon one! LOL. I'm being picky because I'm cheap.
  8. Yeah, mine was two weeks. I'm on day 13!
  9. @@HuneComz I found them on Amazon, but the variety pack is overpriced! Oh that's a good idea to add something!
  10. My nutrition packet from my doctor states that Syntrax nectar is considered a clear liquid, and that I should order some for post-op. Where is a good place to order the variety pack? I'm trying to find a good price. ALSO... Has anyone tried the Isopure clear drinks that come already bottled?
  11. Mine is on Friday and I am SO ANXIOUS.
  12. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I will be out of work for 10 days. He preferred that I take two weeks, but I have to start a new job on Jan 3.
  13. Hey! So when I went to my first appointment, as well as the last one I had just before surgery, I took my mother. She is the BEST at thinking of questions to ask. Here's some she remembered to ask: 1. Which surgery does he recommend? 2. How long will you be out of work? 3. How long has he done this/how many surgeries has he done? 4. What's his success rate? 5. Does he keep an eye on you post-op? 6. What does he require before surgery? Stuff like tha! Hope that helps!
  14. I am on day 13 of the liquid diet. I can't tell you it gets easy, but I can tell you it gets easier. Make sure you get lots of Protein. Drink lots of Water. And find ways to stay busy! Just remember what it's all for!
  15. I'm so excited to see another twenty-something going through this! What an exciting time for us.
  16. @FattyGirl14I think that would depend on your doctor's orderes. Mine said clear unless it's a Protein shake.
  17. GIRL. You have seriously GOT this. It is hard as hell, but totally worth it. My surgery is this Friday. I know all the pre-op changes are scary and hard. But they are there to make you healthier and make your surgery safer. I am on the pre-op liquid diet now. It's hard. CHUG Water. It will really help.
  18. @@suzzzzz So about 5 hours til you got a room. Will probably be a bit less for me since I don't have a hernia. I know I won't "need" anyone there, but my husband insists on staying with me. He's a nervous nelly, and his presence makes me feel better anyway.
  19. Good afternoon, everyone! So my surgery is scheduled for this Friday, December 23, at 7:15 am. Yes, I have to be up bright and early for my surgery! My darling husband was supposed to have the day off to be at the hospital with me. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances at work that I won't even get into, he now has to go in that morning. He's upset, and I'm a little nervous. My mom will be there, so I won't be alone. But here's my question: How long did it take most of you from being wheeled back to waking up? Wondering if he might get there before I'm even awake.
  20. Prayers and good vibes to you! It will go great! Keep us updated
  21. I posted this in another thread, but I'll say it again here! I told EVERYONE. I'm confident with my choice, they can hate all they want-- this is what's best for me! Actually, I've even started a blog, too: www.becomingaloserblog.wordpress.com Like @@laceemouse said, I want to help remove a lot of the stigma around this subject. All that being said, this is your choice. Do what YOU are comfortable with.
  22. It's gas. My doctor told me I would have it.
  23. Hello! I'm from Texas, also! I didn't go through that clinic, but I think it took my insurance about ten days to say "YES!"
  24. Honestly, I'm not much of a fish eater. But I CAN say that seasoning is key-- for both chicken and fish. Do cajun tilapia, chicken with chile powder and lime, stuff like that. Make it new every night. Also, when you're hungry, CHUG Water. It helps. Really. I was successful on my pre-op diet. Just do your best, be kind to yourself, and remember the goal.
  25. I am proud of you for going! It's a hard decision to make, but ultimately it's yours, and could drastically change your life for the better! You will probably have to have a conversation with him tonight about it, since he knows... Just be honest with him. And ask him to be honest with you.
