About Me

  • Gender
    Female
  1. I stood and walked for three and half hours straight last week without sitting once. The old me would have needed to sit down within ten minutes. I have much more energy and stamina as of late. I am nearly seven moths post op. Oh, I also went from a size 26 to a size 20. I am getting there slowly but surely. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I have been wondering if I am "on track" with my weight loss. I had surgery on 11/29 and my starting weight was 353 lbs and I am 275 lbs today. My highest weight was 369, so I have lost 94 total pounds. Now that I am about six months out, I am curious if I am where I need to be in terms of progress. I hope that I am not losing too little or too much weight. I know, I know the journey is the destination. One thing that I occasionally have trouble with is eating too fast and not chewing enough. I hate that tight chest pressure from eating too quickly so I vow to do better at eating slowly. I'm still taking Miralax, but I hope to get off it soon now that I am on a regular diet. I try to incorporate more leafy, fibrous green veggies in my diet. I work out about three to four times a week doing mostly cardio and weight lifting. I feel like I am doing much better now that I am getting into my groove but I still have to be careful about avoiding non pouch worthy foods. Sent from my Moto G (4) using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Use a stool softener or clearly/miralax. DriNk plenty of water and get up and move around. Walking around facilitates BMS. Sent from my Moto G (4) using the BariatricPal App

    Workout with no restrictions

I suggest free weights. I walk about 2.5 miles four days a week. I want to introduce free weights next month. I heard that using machine weights will help build your core. Someone told me about Pilates or yoga for core or strength training. I have my doubts about that though. I want to burn calories and build strength. Sent from my Moto G (4) using the BariatricPal App

    Popcorn

I was told at 3 months out I could proceed to an any food diet. I might try popcorn later. Sent from my Moto G (4) using the BariatricPal App
  6. I am glad that you posted this because I take miralax daily since post surgery. I do get regular exercise, but the foods in the soft foods stage 2 , phase 2 recommended by my doctor does not help with constipation. I am hoping once I am cleared for the 'all foods' diet I can stop using it. It's nice to know that I am not alone. Sent from my Moto G (4) using the BariatricPal App
  7. I am now 2 months post op as of 11/29/2016 and I feel like a failure. I am only 37 lbs down. I was 350 lbs on surgery date and I am now 313, but I feel like I should have lost more at this point. I feel like I keep stalling a regular basis. What am I not doing right? I work out four times a week at the gym for an hour. I always get my daily Protein and Water requirements. I take all of my Multivitamins and calcium supplements. I always consume between 700-800 calories yet my weight loss seems stalled or really slow. I feel like I am not where I should be weight wise two months out. I hate feeling discouraged. Any advice? 8. I am 32 days out and I really want to eat pickles. Dill pickles are all I can think about. Is this normal? I don't think I can have raw veggies until ten weeks from now. ???? I am not even hungry per se, I just miss the taste. I hope I get over these cravings for foods I can't have. Sent from my Moto G (4) using the BariatricPal App
  9. I had RNY bypass on 11/29 . My incisions are healing nicely but it one large incision of my left side can be agonizing with a slight sneeze or cough. I finally had a BM today on day 6 post op. How long do the incisions pain last? Have any of you had trouble getting in hydration fluids? I get all of my Protein, but it is hard to get the 64 oz on top of the liquid Protein shakes. I haven't vomited yet. I find my anti nausea medication makes me feel nauseous. My weight is starting to come off from my liver shrinking diet high of 362lbs. I just really want my recovery to be a textbook case.
