  1. Congratulations! I am right there with you. I have always been too scared. Plus I didn't want to have to be one of "those" who had surgery. Well something clicked in me last week and I made an appointment to go to one of the seminars. I go on April 15 for the initial seminar and from there I am doing the paperwork and crossing my fingers about insurance. Good luck to you on your journey! Ella
  2. Good afternoon everyone, My name is Ella and I live in Oregon. I have begun to do some serious research about LapBand and have finally decided that it is time to take back my life. I am a single parent to a beautiful 4 year old daughter. I want to be around to see her grow up. I want to be able to take her to Disneyland and not worry about fitting in the airplane seat or on the rides. I want to be able to go to a restaurant and not worry about if I will fit in the booth or not. I have been heavy my whole life and have probably tried everything out there that there is. I am finally admitting that I need help. Diet and exercise alone are not going to do it. I need another tool in my arsenal. And LapBand is going to be my tool. I am calling tomorrow to make the first appointment and to see if my insurance will pay for it. For those who have to deal with insurance, on average, how long did you have to wait for approval? Were you selective in who you told about the surgery? I plan to be selective just because I don't think that everyone needs to know. Any advise that you can give will be awesome. Thank you! Ella :smile2:
