  1. @@Juliafinallylosesit I bought the Protein Powder. First I put it in oatmeal but I put a whole scoop and it changes the smell and also the taste. I have been mixing smaller amounts (about 1/3 scoop) now in my Soups and oatmeal. I also just sprinkle it on my food like its salt then stir it up. I am burnt out on shakes but will probably try them again next week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. @@Juliafinallylosesit I am on soft foods now but I am struggling to get my Protein in. I think I should get some flavorless protein to add to my Soups. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. @@Powells95 I was confused about the gas strips too. I was told we could have ginger ale if we let it go flat before we drink it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. Before the surgery I only told my husband, a friend who had already had the surgery and my daughter who is overweight and planning her own surgery. My other kids knew I was having a hernia repair but didn't really know the true extent of the surgery. Afterwards, I've told family and friends and haven't felt much judgement. Then again by waiting til it's done there isn't much they can say about it. don't worry if they aren't supportive. If they haven't been through weight loss struggles it's hard for them to understand how difficult it is to lose weight. Stay strong! I had mine on Nov 30 and I don't regret it one bit. 6. Hi justabitunique The gas pain for me was the biggest surprise. I had pain in my shoulders and chest and that was awful. This they said was the gas pain, which seems odd because it wasn't in my stomach. It definitely was painful, it hurt so much I didn't even feel my stomach. They gave me dilaudid and that worked but it made me nauseous. They had to put nausea meds in my IV even though I had the patch. This was all on day one, by the end of day two I was walking in the hospital and taking Tylenol with codeine in liquid form. Then I could feel my stomach but that pain was nothing compared to the odd gas pains. I had my surgery on Wednesday, left the hospital Friday morning and slept most of the day. Saturday I took pain meds once at bedtime. Today on Sunday I've walked a few times outside and haven't taken my pain meds. So it gets better every day! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  9. Hi I weigh 215 and I'm 5'6" the people who know about my surgery think I'm kinda crazy for doing something so drastic. I am having it tomorrow because I want to feel like myself again. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and put on lots of meds including prednisone and I went from 165-215. I have tried and failed to lose the weight and I hate how I look. I think having the surgery is an individual decision. If you will feel better, then go for it. I have yet to read that anyone has regretted it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
