  1. I should have mentioned that with my meals I eat in total about 90g of protein. My nutritionist advises that I target 75-113g of protein. Good luck!
  2. If you do what your nutritionist and surgeon advise, you'll do fine. Just be patient and plan ahead for your meals. I eat pretty much the same thing for breakfast and lunch every day. Dinner varies but it revolves around lean proteins and fruits or veggies. I eat three 4oz meals a day with one 8oz protein drink before my breakfast. The protein drink is one scoop of Allmax Isoflex zero sugar chocolate peanut butter and 8 oz of soy milk. The powder is 27g of protein and the soy milk is 8g, giving me 35g of protein. It took a lot of trial and error to find the right combo of protein powder and milk to drink but this one is pretty good. For some reason, I can't drink cow milk any more. I can eat all other sorts of dairy, just not milk. I can drink it, I just don't like it. Lastly, I drink 100oz of water a day. I hope that helps. Good luck!
  3. Haha. Thanks. They're part of a family pajama set. My wife is a Disney fanatic so she keeps trying to put me Disney related clothing (hence the toy story shirt). My pajama pants are grey with black stripes and hers are grey with red stripes. Our daughter's are grey with one leg of red stripes and the other leg with black stripes.
  4. That's awesome! Keep up the good work!
  5. Thanks, Nina. How are you progressing? You're about two months out, right?
  6. Thanks. You can do it. And good luck with your surgery.
  7. Thank you, AZBlackhawk. Whoops. GW is 174. Too long referring to my weight as in the 200's or 300's that the 100's sound completely foreign to me.
  8. Five months post-op. HW - 324, CW - 214, GW - 274
  9. Congratulations! You're well on your way. It gets much easier as you go. You'll be amazed at how quickly you recover. Just remember to heed your surgeon's directions and take your time. You'll get there. I can honestly say that I have not encountered any major hurdles. After the recovery from surgery, it's all downhill from there, at least until where I am now, which is the honeymoon phase of Bariatric life. The tool of surgery has been nothing but amazing for me. I feel so much better. I have more energy, confidence, fun, life.... more everything. Just less of me. You can do it.
  10. Thank you! In two weeks I'll be 3 months post op and I'm just thrilled with the results! I'm officially down 75 lbs since the day I started my pre-surgery diet on 12/6. RNY on 12/27. My starting weight on 12/6 was 324 lbs and my current weight is 249 lbs. My dream goal is 174 lbs, or 150 lbs lost.
  11. Thank you, everyone. Feeling pretty good.
  12. HW - 324 SW - 297 CW - 256 White shirt - day starting presurgery diet - 324 Red shirt - one month post op - 270 Black shirt - two month post op - 256
  13. Thanks for asking. Hockey went as well as could be expected for not playing for 10 years. I didn't fall on my ass when stepping on to the ice, so that was good. The bad part was I tore my adductor before I even faced one shot (I'm a goalie). I bent in the wrong way while stretching and it 'popped'. I was in pain, but I played regardless. I just had to take it easy. I knew I should have listened to that little voice in the back of my head and done a few weeks of physical therapy. I've had a chronically torn adductor since I was 18. I tried stretching for the week before I stepped on the ice, but it clearly wasn't enough. So it's 3-4 months of physical therapy for me and hopefully then I can get back on the ice. Congrats on the successful hike. Keep it up. How's the rest of your progress coming along?
