So I was concerned that there wasn't that much of a difference from before surgery to now.. but after comparing this before and after picture I'm feeling much better! Be honest? Does it really look like I've lost 65lbs?! Thanks!

I had mine done sept 26th 2016 I am down 30lbs and was 217. Im only 5ft tall. And 44 yrs old. I have never felt better. I haven't been sick and have not had any issues at all. Nothing but weight loss. Yeah sometimes I miss eating bad but i get past that fast just like when I stopped smoking. It was by far the best decision I've made. Good luck!

Ahh thank you so much. And you're so right. We all have different thoughts and battles we are going through. I love in the UK and having it done in the Czech Republic as it's too expensive here. So kinds of scared of that I think. But it is what it is and I need to man up and think of why I'm doing this ♡♡ thanks again for your fabulous words of wisdom xxx

Not sure how old you are but I was a pretty solid 250 forever and was living ok.. Then I got Fibromyalgia and more recently 3 yrs ago I got Lymes Disease which caused me to get arthritis and horrible mobility issues so of course I piled on weight which made it ever harder to move around.. What I'm saying is.. I wish I had done it way back when I was younger and thinner!

Well, one good thing is, at 18 your skin should rebound alot better than at 50 so it might not end up being as bad as you anticipate.. I completely understand the self esteem issue.. And it sucks.. But you're only 18 and 430#s.. What happens as you get older n heavier or older and have health issues that end up making you gain more weight and lose mobility.. I want my mobility mostly right now.. I'll deal with the skin stuff when I have to.. I wish you the best whatever you decide to do!

I am 195 now, but got up to 199 for at least the third time in several years. I consistently lose 20 and gain 30. I see my parents and the rest of my family members and I see my future. It's not pretty. I need to get this under control now before I have heart problems, diabetes, high BP, and whatever else. If I don't get it done now, this time next year I'll be at 210 and even more unhappy with my weight.
I'm fortunate that I only have back pain, hip pain, and sore knees. It will get worse, I have no doubts. Some people would say I'm not that big . Why wait until I am? I've been fighting this weight battle for more than 10 years. I'm ready to get another weapon and slay this dragon once and for all.

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am currently researching for a documentary series about single people with a medical conditions for Discovery.

We are looking for UK based single men and women who are looking to start dating again but may feel nervous because of a physical condition they have. It is an uplifting and sensitive series which aims to highlight and raise awareness about different conditions and hopefully helps to dispel any misconceptions people may have about their own appearance.

The last series featured individuals with a range of conditions, for example, a lady living with alopecia who had little confidence when dating because she never knew when to tell men that it was not her real hair, to a man who had his arm amputated due to a motorbike accident and thought women would find him less attractive. We can happily say that both are now with long term partners a year on.
This year, we would like to hear from people with excess skin from weight loss or surgery. If you would like to find out a bit more information about the documentary please feel free to get in contact with me at jessica.howe@betty.co.uk.
    Many thanks, Jess.
(Please only apply if you are 18+ and based in the UK)

I don't know what all that means but I think the good news is there is nothing acutely wrong. If the sleeve is too big will they modify it surgically? Hang in there and I hope you get answers soon.

It all depends on you. If sleeved properly, and you follow the nutritional guidance, barring some weird metabolic flaw you should have every expectation to reach a normal and healthy weight.

Rachel79uk reacted to Dub in I don't know how much longer I can do this... But no choice
A bodybuilder in my gym saw that I had been working hard....burning off weight.
He approached me one day and congratulated me on the progress. I thanked him and asked if he had any magic wisdoms for success.
    Turns out....he did.
He said, "Look around....everybody in here....well almost everybody in here.....is working hard....busting their ass. That's super. Not all of them will get the results they want, though. We work hard while we are here, but it's what we do the other 23 hours of the day that allow the results to shine".
I don't get how you having your sleeve is the worst decision of you life.
You have a tool that can help you combat your obesity.
Seems to me the worst decisions are all those choices you make during the day to eat poorly and in a way that doesn't support your desire to loose weight.
It's a process and it's good that you are seeking professional help.
Hopefully you can find a way to flip that switch that's inside of you......your own personal "GO" button......and be able to gain control overall through winning those numerous choices that you make throughout each day.
For me it took experiencing a great deal of back pain and fear from an injury and a circulatory condition that was developing. I began to realize that I wasn't going to be around much longer if I kept living like I was. That pain...and that fear were enough to flip my switch. Priorities were shifted really damn quick and my actions....for the most part.....now are aligned with my priorities.
I hope you can get to this point soon.
You can turn your life around.

I had to increase my calories because I was too low too. I was 450-550 calories a day. I changed up my diet to have bacon or sausage for Breakfast and the higher calorie meal first thing really helped my energy. I also set an alarm on my phone for 4pm daily to have a snack. My snack is usually 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a tbsp of sugar free jam. I feel much better and I'm still losing at a steady rate.
