    Rny? Or sleeve?

I had already had my mind set on the sleeve, but after reading some of these posts I am having second and third thoughts about RNY... I researched the sleeve, not RNY. Guess I have more research to do. I have indigestion occassionally, I take some tums and it goes away... however from what I am reading, that sympton may or may not go away and could even get worse. My reason for choosing the sleeve was I dont want to take Vitamins for the rest of my life. I want to stop all meds not continue with vitamins... I am not a pill person, right now I take 4 too many I don't want to sub one for another.
  2. I was just wondering any body else is having or have had an experience like this... I found out from my insurance that I need to do the supervised diet program, went to see Dr. obtained referral to the Health Education and Wellness division of my Dr's office and scheduled my first 2 classes. One for Dec '16 and the other for Jan '17, then I was told to call back in Dec '16, because the Feb '17 calendar for scheduling was not available yet. OK so I call back last week to try and schdule my Feb '17 class, well not really a class more like a one-on-one with the nutritionist and I was told that my last "class" could not be scheduled till mid March '17 because according to insurance its 90 days from your fist class before the last class can be scheduled. So, bascially I get to sit around for a whole month and a half before I can schedule that last "class". I asked why this wasn't explained to me on the initial contact phone call? The rep had no answer...

    Any Las Vegas sleevers?

Dr James Atkinson of the Surgical Weight Control Center. I was going with them.. But was told they have surgery wont have dates as far out as into the fall of 2017 ... Ugh I hope not I will done with the supervised diet in March 2017 and I am hoping for an April or May surgery date... I dont want to wait till September 2017... ugh! is right! I will have to call and verify the dates, I feel like I should have been told this when I was at the benefits meeting. Not good!

I too am hoping for a March or April surgery date, as I will have just finished my 3 month supervised diet requirement.

    Any Las Vegas sleevers?

I too live in Las Vegas... I have just started with the required 3 month supervised diet, so I have a little ways to go before I have a surgery date set. Best of luck to everyone.

I would want one too... I am hoping my surgeon has something like that available when its my time for surgery!

    Back to work/school?

I have a desk job and I had only planned on taking 5 days off, plus my 2 usual days off. Which would give me a total of 9 days. (depending on my surgery date). As this job is new and I will only be there a little over six months (when my surgery will happen) I am trying to save as much PTO time as possible. If I need more time I will just get a DR's note stating that simple fact...
  9. Since I am just starting on this transition, and I have a few months before I will have the actual surgery date, I have already started watching what I eat, so if I lose some weight before my surgery, then it wont matter much when I start to "look" like after I have actually lost some weight. I have no intention of telling anyone about my "transition" I feel its no nones business, as many have stated I to am a very private person and I have told no one of my plans except my daughter, my brother and mother... who are all supportive. There are no right or wrong answers to this question it a PERSONAL decision and that's that!
