  1. When I retired July 2014 I weighed 360. Tried to loose on my own and was 325 when I started process June 2016. B4 surgery I was 279. Went to get pants taken in and was told they could not reduce them by 9 inches. Bought new jeans and went from size 56 to 48. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Had my sleeve on 3rd. No pain issues or problems with gas buildup. Stuck ridgidly to LD and actually only used 3 of 5 Protein shakes a day. My wife says I look like I haven't had surgery other than 5 scars on my torso. I had appendix surgery last year and was familiar with what to expect. Also I had a great Bariatric staff providing guidance and knowledge for the last 6 months. From reading all of these forums it seems there is a wide variance in the process around country and world. The more support you have the easier the process. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Before starting LD, had a covered dish dinner at a church class. Had some Paella and chocolate mousse. dropped 24 lbs during next 2 weeks and surgery was 3rd so I will have another 2 weeks of LD. So far it's a breeze!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. I had surgery last Easter for a ruptured appendix so I have a general idea of what to expect. It's probably harder if u never had a similar type of surgery because u really don't know how you will react. 8. When I started June 22, I was put on a 1500-1800 cal diet with max of 120g Protein and 150g carb. Quickly found out I could not eat that many calories. For last several month, I have been able to reduce to 1000 or less calories a day. Eleven days into LD has not been a problem. Just got 4 containers of

  10. Started LD on 20th. Had 5 premier shakes and was too full. Went down to 4 the next day and 3/day since. No issues or hunger pains. Dropped 20 lbs through 6 days! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Pre-op diet has 2 purposes. One is to shrink the liver and the greater majority of overweight people have fatty livers. Second, it is to prepare u for post-op life. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Jan 3. After 2 days on LD I am down 8.5 lbs. first day o drank 5 premier shakes and was full. Yesterday, only 4. Today, two plus a bottle of Isopure No carb. And that is after 7 hours of heavy landscape work at our church. No headaches or any other adverse symptoms but food commercials drive me crazy! Feel like Dracula looking at someone who just pricked his finger. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I am on the 3rd. Started 2 week LD today. First day has not been bad and still have one more shake to go. Hopefully that will carry me through the night. When I started in June, I was put on a 1500-1800 cal diet a day. Over the months I shrunk it down to where I was eating 1000 cal or less a day. Hopefully, this will help over the next weeks. 16. I will beat you by a day. Mine is January 3rd. Started liquid diet today. Just had my 3rd premier shake. Will have # 4 and # 5 around 5pm and 9pm. So far so good but the 2 weeks are still young! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. Starting my pre-op diet on December 20. Surgery scheduled for January 3. A good friend had his procedure August 1 and has gone from a HW of 407 down to 298. I am very excited!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I was diagnosed with SA 5 years ago but probably had it ongoing 5-10 years b4. Last year I had nose surgery and this year had surgery for ruptured appendix. No issues with anesthesia. Hoping to have Bariatric surgery early January. That being said I am not underestimating inherent risks with all surgery where you have to be put to sleep. You always have to weigh the risks vs rewards. I am confident I will come through fine and will pray you do too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I started my process June 22. Because I had been working out and tracking food each day, I was told that I could be approved closer to 3 months rather than the normal 6 months. Sure enough, I was referred to surgeon Sept 22. Due to a family medical emergency, I have decided to have surgery early January 2017.
