    liquids stretching pouch?

coffee is a appetizer stimulant. when you have coffee it takes away the hunger (kind of like a diuretic); so I was told by the nutritionist.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Yes, he advises to go back to liquids for two day because your new pouch may be swollen and needs to settle down from the trauma it just went through.

    My mind is far-sighted.

I can totally empathize with you. I have been heavy all my life except when I was seven. I weighted 150 in the fifth grade and just went up from there. I weighed 250 pound in HS. I gained 65 pounds right after HS. My highest weight was 350+; I don't really know because my scale did not go past 350. I lost about 75 to 85 pounds twice and just gained it back after receiving many compliments and started getting noticed by men more often. I am doing ok since I have had my LB. today I was a bit annoyed with my sister because she says that it is very noticeable that I am loosing weight again and wanted to know how much I have lost. I did tell her the first time she asked or the second. she called me the third time and asked I am not sure why it bothered me, but I still refused to tell her. Anyways, she got mad and hung up. I believe I am ready to lose weight. my personal goal is to get to 250-230 and my Dr's goal for me is 160 lbs. that goal seems to be so unrealistic for me because I have never been there. I know what kind of attention I get when I lose 80 pounds just imagine -170 pounds...EEKS.!

    TMI - Embarassing questions

I was hoping the burps would go away..lol. I was giving a lecture to my staff today and a burp came out of no where ( yeah right), more like uncontrollable burp. one of girls kind of giggled at me, oh well, it was kind of funny. there is just no warning.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

A lot of people are talking about PB's. I am sad to say I had my first one yesterday...not fun. I thought someone was sitting on my chest. I was eating a very small piece of halibut, and the second bite it started to cramp in my chest (OUCH!). I am not sure why it happened, becuz I was eating slowly and chewed very well. The fish was fried and somewhat dry, so now I know I must stay away from dry stuff. I am now recommended to be on liquids for two days. I had my first fill 4.21.08 and am scheduled for my second on 5.16.08. I was chatting with the clinic's consultant and I told her that my band was not talking to me..I think it starting to talk to me now. ...lol.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

The only thing that was seller for me on getting the LB was the statistics. something about people who have lost weight on their own only have a 10% chance of keeping it off; and with the LB there is an 85% chance of keeping it off. Fenton, you are doing great and I hope your brother will take your NSV and weight loss as an inspiration, because it is to me. When I am feeling down or annoyed with my LB I always like to read your comments to others and it makes me feel much better.... :crying:
  7. I received my first fill 21st of April; w/ 4.6 cc's. I am feeling ok. I feel fine in the morning, and have a serving of yogurt. in the after noon I am able to eat more than I think I am supposed to. however, in the evening I am totally restricted. I can only get about three to four bites of whatever I am eating and I get that tight feeling in my chest. I go back for my second fill 16th of May.

    Hi, fellow thirty-somethings =)

Boo Boo Kitty, congrats on your weight loss. I didn't you realize you are the lady on top... My goal for my weight loss is the amount you have lost. How long did it take you? When did it become difficult for you, or did it ever become difficult? I feel a bit annoyed with my LB. mornings are really restricted for me, lunch I can eat more and dinner I can barely get about three bites of anything down.... is that normal?

possibly getting first fill today, scared

I hate needles too. I got my first fill yesterday. I was very scared to. Not to scare you more, but it is not a pleasant feeling. I actually said, "you are not getting me back in this chair in four weeks".....lol. that is a lie, however I am glad to hear that I am not a woos. I suggest to relax and breath. good luck. you will be fine.
  11. I lost about 8-10 pounds the first month.... I was told the first month is for healing and people usually gain a few pounds the first month. am not sure what is typical.
  12. Congrats to EVERYONE! I was banded on 21st of March and total weight loss including pre-op is 21 pounds....

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Thank you for the support from everyone. I need this thread, because we are all in the same stages about only weeks. To let everyone know, I was having a down day yesterday, which was very obvious...lol. I called my Doc yesterday and talked to one of his consultants and they had me come in since I did not come in for one week post-op appointment. I think by seeing my Doc I feel much better. What is funny is since surgery I have been drinking "farina" hot cereal. His eyes almost bugged out of his head when I told him that. He was afraid the cereal would be too clumpy, which I made very sure it was not. He ok'd me for mushies..I am so excited. I actually pureed the hell out of lasagna. Everyone is doing such a great job..keep up the good work. FYI: my pains in my side have subsided.... :cursing:

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I am feeling down today. I started getting this sharp pain in my left side, and it is not where the port is. It is like I am getting a horrid side ache. I have been feeling down about the weight loss. I was banded march 21 and have lost about 8-10 pounds. I am happy with that, but afraid this was is not going to work for me. I have been heavy all of my life, since childhood. I have never had any serious weight related health problems, I can walk with out losing breath. my favorite thing to do is hike in the spring and summer. my highest weight has been 350+; my surgery weight is 317. I just want to lose weight for my self-esteem. I am self-pay, and I am trying my hardest to stay focused. I am just winging right now. My Dr. said that some people do not lose weight before their first fill, so I am going by that. my first fill will be 4/21. I am glad to have found this thread. thanks to everyone.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I was banded on march 21st. I keep coming back to this thread..lol. I have had no problems what so ever since I was banded, until this weekend. I went to Las Vegas three days after my surgery and felt good. I stayed there for four days. However, I have must of overdone it because I had a fainting spell Saturday. wasn't quite sure if I was getting enough calories or just plain tired. Anyways, I rested all weekend, and came to work today. I seem to be doing better today. lol, I was doing so well I was not sure if they really did the procedure on me, but now I know they did.

    3 days Post-op pain

sure know how you feel. I used Mylanta Plus with semithicone, and it helps tramendously. hope you feel better soon.
  20. I was banded a week ago, and I have not had any problems with drinking my protein shakes. I though that something was wrong because a discomfort in my chest area that felt like alot of air was stuck. I called the clinic I go to and they said to drink slower with sips. I did as they instructed and it all went away.

Hi my name is Lorinda. I am 36. I live in Washington State. I will be banded on 3.21.08; and I have started my pre-op diet 3.6.07. I am a bit scared but excited at the same time.
