DaleCruse got a reaction from Blberry in Long stall
I've reached a long stall also. If we keep doing the same things, we'll get the same results. I'm saying that as advice to myself as much as anyone else!

Have you considered telling other people about your surgery? I've done it. It feels awkward at first but I think you'll find more people are supportive than not. For me, that one moment of potential awkwardness beats many moments of repeated actual awkwardness at the table. Good luck!

Your mileage may vary. Take the time you need if you can. Good luck!

I'm no doctor, but it sounds like your metabolism is slowing down.
Remember this: You've lost 42 pounds in 3 months. That's awesome! It didn't take you 3 months to get to 579 so it won't take 3 months to lose 130!
Keep going and remember that we're here for support and inspiration. You can do it!

Is there a public pool or recreation center or YMCA in your area? How about any rehab facilities that utilize aquatics? Water excercises can be very effective and something your back may be able to tolerate. And speaking of water, it is imperative to stay very well hydrated. Water is required for the metabolism of fat. Without enough water, the fat isn't going anywhere. You should be shooting for 150+ ounces/day.

DaleCruse reacted to Babbs in Drank wine, I know stupid but need advice
Meh. I was as far out as you when I had my first drink. So you went a little over board, no biggie. I honestly don't think what your experiencing is actual gain. It's probably just Water retention. And don't weigh in the evening! I'm ALWAYS at least 2 pounds heavier in the evening than a morning weight. Drink lots of water, eat lots of protien, and it will come off. There's no way you gained 6 pounds from 3 glasses of wine.

Congratulations on your sleeve! I'm sorry you don't feel well. Things are going to get better. So many of us have felt temporary "buyer's remorse" but we adjust and things get better! We're with you!

Congratulations on your sleeve! I'm sorry you're vomiting and having cramps. This might be cold comfort at this moment, but it will get better. Go slow, let others pamper you, get plenty of sleep. You're going to be okay.

You have every right to feel emotional. You just completely changed your body and life! After my surgery two-plus years ago, I learned every day was a little different. Some days I was emotional and some days I wasn't. That's okay.
Hunger will come and go. You may have it now but that may change. I've reached the point that I don't get hungry. That's great, right? Well, the downside is that I no longer get thirsty. That's not great and something I have to manage. That's me. Your mileage may vary.
The amount of food you can tolerate depends on the volume of your stomach. Odds are it'll be somewhere around four ounces.
Many of us felt regret temporarily. You're so close to giving up on your sleeve? No you're not! You've just gotten started!
Many of us think we're doing it wrong. Please don't compare yourself to your mother and your mother in law. You aren't either of those people - and neither of them are you! You're on your own journey! Good luck!

DaleCruse reacted to blizair09 in Pre-op diet question
What kind of pre-op diet are you doing? If you are doing low carb, and you have entered ketosis, that probably accounts for your breath. As far as the dry mouth goes, did they put you on Phentermine by chance? If so, that causes dry mouth in the early days until you adapt to it.

DaleCruse got a reaction from suzzzzz in Thank you for being here
Hi. I'm Dale. I'm two years post gastric sleeve surgery. Though I've known of this forum the whole time, I always thought I could manage by myself. I did, for a long time. But I've slipped a bit recently. Regained a few pounds. I joined this to not only derive inspiration but offer some of my own to those who were just sleeved when I can. I want to apologize for not joining the community sooner but thank you for being here.

DaleCruse reacted to blizair09 in First Day with NO PROTEIN SHAKES!
Today, Day 32 post-op, I got in all of my Protein with NO Protein SHAKES! I was able to add fish today (salmon specifically), so that did the trick. And I got to 900 calories for the first time. It took me 14 hours of eating and drinking to get everything in and account for the 30 minutes before/after eating "no water" periods. I got in 910 calories, 17 carbs, and 90 grams of protein.
I'm sure there will be days when I have to have Protein shakes for one reason or another, but I am going to Celebrate the fact that I am finally in a place where I won't have to rely on them every day!
Onward!!
