  3. If you don't mind me asking, how much was you surgery? I am thinking about doing my arms early next year. The LBL will be end of next year if I get all the weight off. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. My face is narrower. I see myself everyday, so I don't notice as much as others Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. So, today I noticed that the bottom of my "apron " is deflating. This is a good thing. I am 4 months post op but have been in a stall for 2 weeks. Suddenly, I noticed the panniculus getting pruney or wrinkly at the bottom. This is not how I thought it would go. I figured my waist would get smaller and eventually the panniculus would deflate in general. It's kinda exciting to watch. It means something good is happening. 6. You can use a measuring cup. 1 cup = 8oz 1/4 cup = 2 oz I have little 4oz containers with lids that I put my food in. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. I saw this on the Today show and they called it an accordion procedure. Not sure I'd be comfortable with this procedure. How do food particles not get stuck in the folds or suture line? Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I am down 65lbs total. I love my sleeve and forget I have it sometimes. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am 3.5 mo out. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I actually do a 5 mi walk in the AM and weights at the gym after work. But REI just opened near me. I plan to hike part of the Apalacian Trail later this Year. So, I figure incorporating weights with walking are good training. Also, the more muscle, the faster the fat burn Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I was sleeved Feb 7, 2017. In efforts to capitalize as much as I can in the 1st year, I started really working out. I walk 5-10mi/day. My speed was 23min/no. Now it's 17min/no. In efforts to keep the muscles I had carrying around the old weight, I started to carry a frame pack with 25lbs of kitty litter. What are you all doing to get the weight off? Only monitoring the food? Did you pick up new hobbies? Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I figure I'll buy a wig or try my extensions if the hair loss continues as much as now. I started at 2.5mo and am 3.5mo now. But as someone said, it's a small price to pay. It grows back. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. I'm outside of Orlando...but had surgery in MX. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I don't know anything about Dr. C. I did have surgery with Dr. Illan and I have nothing but positive things to say. Not only was he great, all the hospital staff and valets were awesome. I have 4 other co-workers that are former patients and we have all had great results and no complications Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Dr Jawed and Texiera have a monthly support group at ORMC for their patients and others Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I was 3 months out on the 7th and down 62.3lbs from preop. It feels like it is slow but I know it's not. I just gotta keep trekking Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I had surgery with Dr Illan. I am super happy with my results. Great Dr. And staff Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Check Global Protection Solutions. They reimburse you a % for your complications locally
  18. I use tyson when they are buy 1 get 1 at my grocery store. Makes for fast meals when needed
  19. I saw that my weight is going down much slower. However I workout every night. In my workout, I burn more calories than I eat all day. Is my weight loss slow due to starvation or is it just me. I am 10.5 weeks post op Walk a brisk pace for 9 miles, 5 days/week burn 1400-1500 cal per walk Daily consumption is 1000cal.
  20. I went to the ocean, my experience was awesome. 2.5mo out I am down 56lbs!
  21. Sleeved 2/7/17, down 55lbs. Normal energy, no complications, walk 4-10 miles per day.
  22. No, this is specific to medical tourism. This was one of the main reasons I decided to travel to Mexico for surgery. The company name is Global Protection Solutions. There are other plans, but since my local Dr. didn't offer Blis, I had to rethink things. I had other reasons for going, but this was one of the major factors in my decision.
  23. Yes. It covered complications there and here in the US. However it is a reimbursement type insurance, not like your major medical.
  24. I am in Orlando and self pay. My original surgeon didn't offer complication insurance. Therefore, I opted to go to Dr Illan in Tijuana, MX where I paid less and was able to buy medical tourism insurance. It covers me for 6 months post surgery and I can go to local doctors. Luckily, my doctor has very few complications and I am doing great!!!
  25. I'm right there with you. My scale gives body fat % and that keeps going down while the #'s remain the same. Don't loose hope. I started the stall on week 6 now at week 8. I get about 90g protein a day, 900 cal, less than 40g carbs and walk 4-6 miles daily. I know it will break. I burn 3300 cal/ day and eat 900....it has to come off sooner or later.
