  1. I was told I wouldn't need it. But for peace of mind, I got it. There are a couple companies out there, but this covered me once back in the states. https://www.globalprotectivesolutions.com
  2. My PCP is doing all my follow-up. I have complication insurance and I was nervous about going to MX. However, Dr Illan sent me home with my surgery video, labs, chest xray and leak test video, so my Dr has everything and Dr Illan will share his case notes to the Dr.
  3. Holy crap! (Litterally!) I pooped without help today!
  4. I was sleeping solid. Yesterday I wanted to sleep all day, I was so tired. But I got up for work. Today, my eyes popped open at 4am. I have some cramping from my cycle which is messed up too. But normally I can roll over and go back to sleep. Not today, I was spry with lots of energy. So I went to work early. I know I am going to crash when I get home later. I am sure it has to do with the hormones
  5. Thanks Andrea. My surgery was Feb 7 and I had no issues sleeping after surgery...this is just coming on now
  6. I understand the morbidity of the other posters, a guy who was sleeved the same day as me (Feb 7) died 10 days post-op..likely because he didn't follow the guidelines. His wife posted (privately on another fb group) that he took Alka seltzer. Threw up blood and died shortly after. He didn't have a lot of time after his error for the Dr to fix it. So, to me, following plan is very important. Also, if you "cheat" now, what stops you in the future? What happens if you crave chocolate or cake? Will you give in? I know we aren't 100% perfect, but try your hardest.
  7. Ok...this has never been a problem, but sleeping a solid 8 hours isn't happening anymore since surgery. Today, I was wide awake at 4am Also, my cycle can't make up its mind if it's coming or going. Please tell me this is normal and will resolve itself over time.
  8. Patience. I am in my 1st stall right now. It started Sat. Yes, it's bothersome, but I know I'm not eating anywhere what I was eating before, so it will come off.
  9. You were the day after me. I loved my time in MX and with Dr Illan and staff. Awesome experience!
  10. So, I went for 14 days with no pressure or urge to poop. I took a stool softener in case it was that. I pooped some, but then went another 5 days. Took another softener and voila...I pooped...once again, not lots. Anyone else like this? Is it because I am not eating meals of substance, mostly liquids?
  11. Drink! Hydrate yourself!
  12. I didn't think it would happen to me...but yup. Fri, I jumped up 2 lbs, presumably due to my period...but it was just some spotting. Now 6 days later, the 2lbs gain is gone.....but I hope the weight loss kicks in strong after this!
  13. I am thinking about loading my surgery video onto you tube
  14. Cash depends on your area. I found 10,500 and 14,254 in Orlando. I ended up with Dr. Illan in Tijuana, MX for 4,400. I do NOT regret Mexico, it was awesome! Insurance would not likely reimbursement you. They get billed differently when going through insurance.
  15. I went 14 days and then finally...pooped. I thought it would be more than it was...but nothing to write home about
  16. Surgery Feb 7....have had energy but wasn't sure about walking any distance since I was tiring easily. I did 9000 steps yesterday and 11,000 today! Yippee! Now to keep this up!
  17. I am drinking chocolate as a snack and it is recorded in my protein, carbs, calorie counts.
  18. I've been super good with people eating around me. (Surgery Feb 7) but at Day 8, when I was allowed full liquids, I was so frustrated, I wanted something of substance. I got chocolate fairlife milk which quieted me anger. The good news is I haven't thought about the food since the . Just 1 day. So, you can do it! Think positive!
  19. What part of Orlando? I am Winter Garden area.
  20. Yup..it went away once I was off the iv
  21. Sleeved Feb 7. Heeling good and have energy. Dull pain when sitting up but I think it's cause I have a dry cough if I dint drink enough. Everything is going down the hatch easy. Today I hit my 70g of Protein. Also down 30lbs since starting pre-op 3 weeks ago
