Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from Nblorenz1 in Vitamin Patches???
I think until some respectable studies start coming out I would avoid them unless my surgeon explicitly told me use them. There seems to be too little evidence on their efficacy at this time.

Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from FluffyChix in Anyone else have mood swings that you can't seem to control? Need advice!
1 month after surgery:
Boss: I don't understand why we can't just make things work on this project.
Me: I don't understand why you can't get what I'm saying through your fuckin' head.
Boss: I don't need to put up with this from you, and he walked away.
Me, Loud enough for all to hear: Bye Felicia!
Spent 2 months in the doghouse for that one.

Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from njgal in Don't be the Chicken & Cheetos Lady
Yeah, I knew a patient who was rapidly regaining weight. When asked what said patient was eating, it was revealed to be mostly Angel food cake. Why? Because they said it contained mostly egg whites which were Protein, and thus on their bariatric diet sheet.

Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from Hopep4673 in No support
That is the exact reason why I chose to go forward with WLS as well. Never had a problem losing weight, always had a problem keeping it off.
As for your mother scaring you, she is most likely doing that because she herself is scared about it. Education is the best way to turn a naysayer into a cheerleader. I would suggest taking her with you to the doctor on your next visit, or sharing posts on this site with her. Either way, my guess is she will come around to supporting you.

Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from FluffyChix in Cranky pants is cranky.
Hahahahaha understatement for me. For the first couple months:
Question: "How are you today buddy?"
Answer: "I'll kill your whole damn family if you don't leave me the f**k alone!"

Navigating the Wilderness got a reaction from linah in "Side effects" of WLS
Seems like they should list these side effects in addition to all the standard doom and gloom ones. It would help many more people take the plunge.
