When you are called a kangaroo, sleever or a bander.

Who thinks this stuff up!?!?!
It was me. I thought that up. It really seemed like a good idea at the time. I received $10.4 Billion for that idea. I am sorry. I won't do it again.

Hearing Aids and Gastric Bypass
Just got a return call from the VA. It seems that I need an adjustment due to the weight loss. I will be going to the walk in appoint tis done. I just hope they don't take my hearing aids and send them out. I have a very hard time hearing (mostly female voices) without them.

WLS->gossip->Mom->explanation
I didn't tell my parents that I had the surgery. My wife spilled the beans while I was in the hospital. The first thing out of my dad's mouth was, "I didn't realize you were that big." I wasn't that big, I had it done because the woman that gave birth to me dropped dead of a heart attack at a relatively early age. She had the same issues that I had (high BP, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, depression) when I had the RNY surgery. I can completely understand your not wanting to tell your mom.
-
Why did you choose GBP?
My surgeon recommended the RNY to me. I was not a candidate due to my BMI only (BMI was only 35), but with my sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, GERD, and diabetes he said it would benefit me greatly. I do regret it. I regret that I didn't do it sooner. There are days when it is difficult but I am so happy that I had it done. I am 12 weeks post op and I am completely off the insulin (only taking 250 mg of Metformin twice daily), off the blood pressure medication, off the cholesterol medication, off the omeprazole and the pressure on my CPAP machine has been turned way down. I have lost almost 60 pounds and I feel great.

Is my friend avoiding me?
I don't think I have lost any friends. It sounds to me like your friend has the problem. Even though it is hard to lose a friend, you need to surround yourself with positive support. Sorry you lost your friend.

If you have worked with your doctor on weight loss then that is a weight loss program. You doctor needs to submit that you have worked with them over the years on weight loss program.

Airport Security Curiosity
I will be flying next month from Detroit to McAllen, Tx. Being a DoD employee I do not get along with the TSA. I need to make sure I am "EXTRA" gassy when I fly.

- Hearing Aids and Gastric Bypass
I have over the ear hearing aids that I got from the VA ( many years on the flight line). They are over the ear and into the ear canal type. My question is this, would weight loss make them not fit correctly anymore?- Addicted to My 600 pound life.

Thanks! Now I am totally addicted to Fat Doctor (or Fat Surgeons as some of them are called). I have to wait until my wife is gone so I can watch it as my wife doesn't care for it. LOL
- Update
Sorry to hear that. How do they treat something like that?- Feeling Great? Do You Still REALLY Need Lab work?
Fantastic article. Thank you for writing and posting this.- Is this normal?
I had the "absent minded" thing as well. It has seemed to go away. As far as being tired, that went away after I had the surgery. My CPAP machine is actually helping me now.- One Week Post Op
One week post op for me was pretty much the same way. You will be able to eat more as time goes on. Just watch your urine, the darker the color (and more smelly) means that you are not getting enough fluids. If you feel that you can't drink any more then eat ice chips. The worse thing you can do is become dehydrated.- Update
I hope that everything works out for you. Sending prayers your way.- Is it true?
My bypass was only 1 1/2 hours. However, with the bypass you lose weight a lot faster than with the sleeve. Also, I was told that there is a 33% chance that you will gain the weight back with the sleeve. - Hearing Aids and Gastric Bypass
