Comfortable Coccyx Cushion
I bought a coccyx cushion to help with the tailbone pain but it is really uncomfortable. Has anyone found one that is comfortable to sit on that helps with the soreness?

What is that one thing you look forward to so much, post op?
Probably a horrible thing to say but I waited for people to stop saying, "What a fat POS." It was worth the surgery to have people stop saying that. It is such a shame that we live in a society that puts down people due to their weight, social status, race, job or whatever. I am now proud of who I am and what I do. My self esteem has risen to an all time high and I find that I hold my head high.

Poop problems
I ended up in the ER the day after my birthday with fecal impaction and urine retention (male). Two enemas and the doctor shoving his arm up to the elbow later I was able to go. I strain and try to have a BM every day. I am six months post op from my RNY surgery. I don't ever want to go through that again. Ever.

Easter epic fail...
OK, let me be blunt. Build a bridge and get over it. Get back on track and try not to do it again.

Best pjs for the hospital?
It was hard to wear anything other than underwear and the hospital gown with all the hoses and wires hooked up to me. I had brought a robe, sleep pants, t-shirts and slippers. All I was able to use was the slippers. I wasn't able to shower for two days while in the hospital. It really sucked.

Taking the Stairs
So, I stopped taking the elevator at work and started taking the stairs. I work on the 8th floor so I walk up and down 8 flights of stairs 4 to 5 times a day 3 to 4 days a week. I work from home on Mondays so I can't do it on Mondays and I am off every other Friday so I can't do it then. Before my RNY surgery I felt like I was going to puke my lungs up on anything past the 4th flight of stairs. Now I can do 8 flights with being just a little out of breath. I love my pouch.

Is this normal?
I had the Roux-En-Y on 20 October 2016 and I bounced right back. No pain meds, no complications, no issues (other than eating too fast or not chewing my food enough). I will be 6 months out on Thursday and I am currently at my surgeon's weight loss goal for me. Everyone is different, some bounce right back, some do not. Some lose the weight rapidly, some lose it slowly. Everyone's weight loss experience seems to be different.

I know the Sam's Club that I go to has chocolate, vanilla and banana cream. I haven't tried the banana cream yet but I do love the vanilla and the chocolate.

Too much weight loss
I agree, speak to your surgeon or your NUT. I fear this happening to me as well. I am 6 months post op and 1.4 pounds from my surgeon's goal. My wife says I am already too thin.

Hubby says " you aren't the one that has to be attracted to you" ..., WHAT?
"I am broken, but strong." I love that. I hope that things are going better for you.

6 months post RNY, mixed feelings/results
Sorry that you are having issues. Are you still meeting with your surgeon and your NUT? I met with mine at 14 days, 30 days, 90 days and 6 months. My surgeon offers a support group that meets monthly and I haven't missed one since my surgery (first group was 5 days post op). You might want to see if someone from your support group would be willing to help mentor you. You may also want to talk to a therapist to help you.

BCBS FEP approval experience please!
I have BCBS FEP and had surgery last year. It was 6 months but luckily I was on the MOVE program at the VA and that satisfied the requirements. So I had surgery about 40 days after my surgeon submitted everything to the insurance co.

Looking for recommendations
Might be cheaper for you to go to Mexico and have it done.

6 Month Checkup
I went to see my surgeon yesterday for my 6 month check up. I have 1.4 pounds to lose to meet his weight loss goal. My official 6 months post op will be 20 April 2017. My surgeon and NUT are extremely happy with my progress and said that I have a greater chance of keeping the weight off due to my early success. I am so happy. I think that I should be at his weight loss goal before next Thursday. This was the best decision that I could have ever made. Who would have thought that being a loser could feel so good.
