  1. I’m sooooo excited for you!!!! Good luck! Wishing you a safe speedy recovery as well. You’ll be totally fine and you literally won’t need anything except a phone charger and chapstick. You will probably just sleep and walk off gas pressure for most of it. I’m having my revision next month and im sooooo excited, i can’t wait.
  2. There’s this girl on instagram who does all the time. Autumnnoir she uses unico protein powders and makes all kinds of bariatric friendly desserts like frosting, cookies, whoopie pies. Many of the recipes are also on pinterest. They look super yummy, im just more of a chef personally, not a baker which is why i haven’t actually made them myself yet.
  3. @mattz right!!! I think we all say things in our heads, that’s normal. But exactly, no need to make someone feel bad. You have a point- it could be jealousy. Or it could also just be a whole bunch of new found know it all’s.

@fluffychix congrats on your progress by the way!!! 123 lbs gone is impressive. I’m sooooooooooo proud of you. I would totally do a backflip, but lord knows i won’t be able to get back up ??
  5. Congrats on your degree hun! Focus on that. Share less of your journey to avoid those condescending remarks and ignore it because most of them genuinely do just mean it in a nice way anyway. Lastly, just keep doing all the amazing things that you do, dont look for validation from anyone about any of your successes.

Same!! I hate those....omg i didn’t lose 30 pounds in 3 weeks posts. Like i don’t want to insult anyone but i can’t help but laugh. I also hate those “oh i eat slider foods all day, why am i not losing weight posts” Lastly i also hate those posts from people who obsess over every little thing instead of just enjoy the process. Like relax already, take a xanax or something.?
  7. I’m just venting so feel free to ignore me. I hate when people assume that because i eat less or watch what i eat, therefore i must not be healthy. First off, why would anyone be that interested in what another person eats anyway? But the reason why it irritates so much isn’t their curiosity or judgement. It’s literally the types of people doing all the judging. It’s never ever my naturally thin friends, oh no they all have lives and things to do, they could care less lol. It’s almost always either the miserable negative nelly morbidly obese person who is also falling part. Or it’s the formerly fat person that lost the weight by doing crazy insane extremely unhealthy measures to lose weight, like carnivoreism or extreme 10 day water fasts. Like no offense- but that’s not healthy either way so excuse me for not wanting to take advice from you, especially if you’re not an MD or dietician. But apparently telling people this to their face is frowned upon ??‍♀️. Like maybe it’s just me but i just want to left alone and continue to do what works for me, and avoid the negativity from others.
  8. I love this- now go create a tinder account asap and keep flirting lol.
  9. Agreed. Im going to try it with a friend. Weird confession time: i don’t mind working out at all, but i hate classes. Something about being a room full of strangers creeps me out. So trying this would be new for me.
  10. Agreed. ?????? especially to the whole “fat people are their own worst enemies piece” Self love can also equal self care- its not mutually exclusive.
  11. So you will have signs of fullness and it varies for everyone. It could be a runny nose, hiccups, burp, tightness or pain in your throat etc. But for may of us, some of those signs go away after awhile so it’s crucial that you learn to portion everything out and eyeball things, meal prep and learn to totally be ok with wasting food. For me, i view everything as an is it worth it question- from buying food to clothes etc. it’s easier for me to say no to certain food because i refuse to pay for something and then have it end up in the trash, especially if it doesn’t reheat well. If it’s something that i really love that isn’t super processed i may order it, ask for a small side plate, portion out what i will eat and take home the rest for multiple meals later. But because of my mentality it almost always rules out fast food and lots of entree salad dishes.
  12. Eh i think it depends on the person. In my opinion i think most people that regain aren’t always honest about their habits or how they manage stress or even how often they exercise. I don’t think it’s usually the super strict dieters, i’ve seen that it’s usually the emotional eaters. Almost as if they’re unaware that they still use food for comfort or binge eat late at night sort of thing. Or they dont track what they eat and end up eating to many carbs or processed foods.

It could also be what each surgeon performs. I’ve seen surgeons in my area that only do one procedure, so maybe that’s all that is offered to them that their insurance will cover. Could also be a health risk thing too, i’ve seen surgeons refuse to perform the switch due to complications and recommend either the sleeve or bypass. And some people aren’t really given options but rather told what they need by their surgeon.
  14. @sosewsue61 the sad part is i’ve never even heard of the baritastic app until now lol, thanks. I’m going to try that too!
  15. Stupid question: I want to start tracking my macros, but i can’t find any bariatric specific macro calculators. Can anyone help me translate percentages and grams into calories please? T.i.a Goal is about 1,000 cals per day Protein 50%, carbs (10-25%), fats (25-40%) I can always re adjust if my protein calculations aren’t exact, i just need my protein to be at least 60g.
  16. I consulted with him, but ultimately decided to go with someone else.
  17. So i live in a major city where everyone on planet earth is a skinny bitch and fitness freak lol. I’m slowly turning into that kind of annoying person too haha. So because of that, there’s every possible fitness class, fad gym, regular gym, fancy over priced boutique class available to me and they’re expensive as hell. So i’m trying to narrow it down. Has anyone actually tried orange theory? Is it fun? Is it mostly weights, or cardio? Is it worth the price? Are the classes super long? And be honest, would you a actually stick with it or do you suggest something else? T.I.A
  18. Just add it in 2-3 days per week and lift weights the other days. That way you’re still toning too. You can also wake up earlier and do insanity in the morning and do your other routine in the evenings. I did T-25 and i love it. I also do boxing and heavy weight lifting.
  19. So like a few articles isn’t enough to convince me about anything. I know certain vitamins whatever you dont use gets excreeted and usually it makes your pee bright yellow so you can see it, so that i do believe. But as far as protein goes, i can’t say for sure that im not absorbing all of it, nothing happens to me if i consume a bunch of protein at once. So i’m still doubtful. I need actual physical proof.
  20. Just say i watch what i eat, and workout. I did it to be healthier, you should try it.
  21. I totally forgot that i even made this post lol, it’s one of my older ones. Now that’s it’s been some time i am definitely not getting a reduction, i love big boobs. I’ll probably just have a lift later on, but right now they look fine.
  22. Neither. Personally i do premier caramel with coffee and sf torani vanilla. Or any flavor mts whey mixed with fair life fat free milk.
  23. Well every surgeons requirements vary. But i follow a youtube chef named darius cooks on social media, he eats literally whatever he wants. But he paid out of pocket, so im not sure if he wasn’t given an eating plan, has a less strict eating plan or just doesn’t care. But i’ve seen that too. Everyone’s different. Personally i started eating around 1 week, soups or dairy products. I just refused to do a pureed food phase and i was fine.
  24. Donate them. Your tummy is small now so you probably wont go through two boxes.
