I feel you! I'm just hoping my financial situation will eventually improve and I can find a way to afford it when time comes. I'm not gonna borrow worries from the future.

11 days out and ive lost 10 lbs... I had been having some severe lower abdomen pains.... doctor feels is constipation...I've only have 2 bowel movements, 1 6 days post op and I took a major Sh!t ???????????? later that night after my doctors appts...today was day 12 and I can say I feel alot better....I'm getting in the recommended fluids but in still dehydrated....to me I feel like I'm drinking the same amount of fluids pre op.....I have 64 oz jug that I use to track my Water consumption, but I WAS one of those ppl that drink tremendously WHILE eating also as well a getting in 64 oz of water so I think/know that my require way more that 64 oz to be fully hydrated. I also have no sense of thirst or hunger which makes it harder for me to consume even more water....but I have no complaints it's not a race, it a marathon so is about the long run of things.

I would echo some of the others and also suggest speaking to a professional. The biggest part of this journey, to me, is re-establishing your relationship with food. I used my six-month insurance-required pre-op diet to do that, and I am so glad that I did. Aside from the huge pre-op weight loss that I had, that diet program gave me the time to get my mind in the right place, and that has made all the difference in this post-op transition. (I say this more for the benefit of those reading who are pre-op. In your case, what's done is done and talking to a professional will be your best bet to playing catch up.)
    Good luck!

I'm still pre-op and I am well aware of what I am doing. What kind of program did you go through? They didn't discuss what changes you would need to make? These are things I am trying to change now before surgery. I am expecting to feel miserable right after as well since it's a shock to the system, but once I embrace my choice and know this is a lifetime commitment, I am sure I will wonder why I didn't do it sooner. Best of luck to you and hopefully this will pass. I suggest seeking a therapist to help you get to the bottom of your food issues.

At this point I would try to find myself a support group or a professional you can talk to. most of this game is changing the way we think, not just how we eat.

My surgery was based on my first visit weigh in. !y dr wanted me to lose weight, I guess to prove that I could do it. I started at 210 on my surgery day I weighed 194. Not a big loss but it helped to prepare my mind and body as to what was coming after surgery.. good luck

    Well here goes.
I started on the journey around 2 years ago. The NHS make you jump through hoops to qualify for an op. Followed all the rules and finally went in on the 14th Oct 16. Under the knife around 08.30 and conscious sometime after 17.00 the same day. The first 24 hours was uncomfortable to say the least however that soon passed. Day two was basically a sip Water day over and over and over again. As the day wore on the sickness became less and I was able to keep it all down. Sunday and I'm up and out of bed. Managed a few trips up and down the ward. Monday and it was time to go home. Lot of instructions, lots of guidance and lots of help offered if I needed it. I'm sore and tired but nothing more than expected. This is a huge life changing procedure and it's only just started..... . Watch this space!

Char3672, take this time to prepare your body and mind. I went 6 months preparing and I'm glad I did.. it will be worth it..I'm 18 days out and doing good. No cravings and I've been out to eat with the family and it doesn't bother me at all, which is a good thing for me. I either eat what I can off the menu or I always have a bag of stuff with me that I can eat..it's been great..

wow - so happy things are going nice and smooth
it good for newbies to hear other newbies success early PO
OP (newbies) seem to hear/remember bad stories/problems
    then they get nervous/scared
hopefully many newbies are reading your words
seeing your easy recovery (drinking going well too)
you are understandably excited/looking forward to things
you can only imagine what's in store for you next
